on the plus side my local garage here is 1 euro1cent per litre
as the euro is 1.36 at the mo im getting fuel at 75ppl in real terms, hence i will be carrying a full 20litre can as well as brimming the tank before i leave spain!

The government wont allow,fuel to fall below £1.00, per litre as they will lose millions in tax.

Fuel duty is a constant charge per litre, so it's only the VAT element that's sensitive to the retail price. The government will see it as a good excuse to reinstate the duty escalator (after the election, of course).
