How long did you leave the ignition on for?

Ignition & radio on until display shows "CODE" (up to 2 hours), then enter correct code and press "AS" button. Decent battery will sustain that, if unsure whack a charger on it

My guess is that you have a faulty or corrupted eeprom in the head unit preventing it from accepting any codes...i seem to remember my CCR2006 was stuck in safe mode. The eeprom is on a small vertical daughter board which plugs into the mother board of the head unit, replacing it with one from another unit and using that units code would prove the point and get the radio working again if it was indeed an eeprom fault.

If you can get radio to me, willing to look at it. Though, despite being in the same county, you're not exactly close...

7 SAFE means three wrong atempts of a code

You may think you are entering the right code, but I can promise you are not.

Unfortunately 7 SAFE means up to two hours with the ignition and radio switched on, this must be continuous, and yes it is a battery killer if you are not going for a drive - thats the penalty for incorrect code useage

If all else fails after that, send it to me

To save any further hassle. Now radio is working, if you go through the motions of inputting the code again, once you hear the final "beep" the "code request" will be disabled
