What he^^ said! My vodaphone full size card is put in with the gold bit of the SIM facing upwards & inserted first. I tried one of the cardboard adapters to start with and didn't any joy with it - far too long back now to remember what message I got  ;) If it's just the small SIM you're using, try sellotaping it to the main card it was snapped out of.  :y

i guess also since its all the same size you could put it in 'backwards' and upside down.... not sure what way around they should be put in.

I did this yesterday with an O2 sim card.It worked on the third try and i had to use force to get the card fully in the slot.
The first time the card didnt go in deep enough to get beyond the pop out panel..but after a bit (a lot) of wiggling the card slipped right in.Then restarted the thing and bingo. (contacts up the way on the card.)
It is so peachy when working already i cant live without it.)also the sim was free with a tenner credit from o2.

You don't want to do what I did, which was pop out the small sim and put that into the socket. it took me a while to retrieve it with a butter knife. LOL.

Enfield. The phone popped up and worked first time after the sim went in.(the wee signal strength thingy on the lower right appeared emmediately) and i got notification of five new messages from 02.I didnt realise that you could read texts from it too!cool..
Does the sim card go completely into the slot?
so that it is behind the pop out panel?
