Official car share schemes might qualify for tax advantages, which could offset the charge costs :-\

It's official in that it's company recognised, we get better permits that allow us onto on-site car parks with dedicated lift share spaces. But the council/government are not involved, given how weakly it's policed within Sky I cannot see it applying for tax discounts or any kind of exemption.

Nope, also it would be too hard to police it as well. Having to submit info to prove you went to work and were sharing?

Yeah but they won't give me a free ticket to London just because I'm registered in car share at my employer.

2019 is going to be the year I think, LEZ with pre-2006 year surcharge. Then congestion charge zone as ULEZ.

So only 2 years away give or take   :( depending when they action it.

We regularly go to Kingston Upon Thames in 3.2..... Well not for much longer!

Reading the link, 81% of 15,000 celebrity labour supporters sandal wearing salad munchers vote for a bit of fresh air in the largest conurbation this side of Watford, and 'dangle berries' to what the other 10 MILLION Lundun residents want :o

No wonder they're pissed over Brexit... imagine what would happen if they could organise a knees up in a gin shop ;D

Anyhoo, reading the link, vehicles currently exempt from the congestion charge will also be exempt from this bright idea...

In London at the moment the whole place looks like a shit tip, piles of rubbish outside the restaurants , why they are worrying about vehicles beggars belief.

Let's look at this positively.
The price of pre 2005 vehicle's has just plummeted, be lots of cheap cars available soon.

As for those who commute, or work in London. Never mind, deal with it.

The mayor should ban all vehicle's over 7.5 tonnes from within the M25.

I've banned myself from entering inside the M25.  Its nasty, horrible, smelly, and all my snot turns black due to the diesel shit (taxis, buses and trains being the worse culprits). Why on earth anyone would want to go inside the M25 does perplex me, but I am just a simple country boy.

This self inflicted ban means work kindly relocated my headquarters back to the equally shitty, but far cleaner/fresher, Bletchley. Its just like London, has all the same issues as London, it just doesn't smell as much.

Anybody with a modern car got the MOT emmissions output from last MOT.  Would be interesting to compare to my 19yr old, 233k 3l petrol...
