Just out of curiosity has anyone double skinned an exhaust box ? I thought about heat tape wrapping or heat matt the rear exhaust box and then a layer of galv sheet around it. Would this make any difference ? . .?.this is after reading about original gm units which were double skinned. Never been happy with the rear box on mine.tried two different makes on and experimented with tip length but think it could be better .any ideas

Ps it is all new cat back .wasnt happy with first rear box so bought another of a different make. Neither as good as the original though which was a gm system

Even new GM are single skinned. Your only option is to go custom if you're not happy with what is on offer

All the Bosal type stuff is utter shite. Far, far worse than even the current GM. As is anything from the local factors, or what the likes of Shitfit/Halfords/STS/local tyre place fit.

Don't faff about, grab one of the cat back systems from Eternal or ETS, job jobbed.

I've driven far too many Omegas, but the Eternal/ETS ones are virtually on a part with the original GM ones, both in quality and noise.  The others all drone, and are tedious when driving.

Yeah the first new one was a bosal .fitted it 6 months ago and it droned. Hoped it may have quiet ended down after a bit but didn't so took it off and put on a different one. Can't quite see the make on it ,three letters I think but it's a bigger heavier box and definitely better sounding but not as good as the one that I took off.back box was gm but never thought to check if it was an original type or single skin.just binned it.will double skin mine this week to see if it helps .then il see about an eternal one
