Omega General Help / Re: Tick over lumpy, EGR valve?
« on: 20 July 2018, 08:01:40 »
If there's a lot of noise from the manifold when cold which quietens when warmer it would suggest[to me at least] that the manifold is cracked/not tight or the gasket has blown.Expansion from heat then closes any gap.Could this have an effect on its ability to tick over smoothly?
Yes, agreed, but i am not leaning in that direction.

Any lights on the dash? Stored fault codes?

I'd be suspecting cam sensor or coil pack

This mornings codes!

Not quite sure why you suspect the EGR valve. On your high mileage car I would first have looked at the throttle. On a fly-by-wire car like the 2.2 you have no idle control valve, as on the 2.0 car, the throttle opening is controlled electronically by the ECU. If the throttle has carbon deposits or gummy residue on it, it may not function well at small openings. If my 2.2 had an idling problem, I would remove the throttle, inspect it, clean it and polish it. If that failed, I would next look at the breather system.

All of that has been done, cleaned out, new airfilter, piping checked.
New plugs, runs like a dog at tick over..

Omega General Help / Tick over lumpy, EGR valve?
« on: 19 July 2018, 13:10:37 »
All, hi again.
I have a 2001, Omega 2.2 Petrol.
Tick over is rough, like its missing but not quite, if you know what I mean.
I have done all the normal things, removed all the intake side, cleaned and replaced, along with a new airfilter.
This did not stop it so I replace the plugs… still no satisfaction.
When cold, there is a lot of noise from the manifold, like it is blowing, but this soon goes and is replaced by the uneven running.
On the road it is fine, it is just tick over (600 rpm).
It has been suggested that the EGR valve could be stuck open, (the car has done 206,000) and i am not aware of any changes of this valve.
Is there any advice you can give?
I not, any info or advice for replacing or blocking the EGR valve?
Where exactly is it?
Thanks in advance for your help.

I ordered one today from my local dealer. Cost just over a fiver. Part number 13277003.  :y
Hi, i had a look at that part number and it looks nothing like mine! mmmm ???

Does your HP valve look like this?

and this should be a photo of your LP valve.

Flick through the photos and you will find some others pics of the AC pipes.

Hope this helps.

Andy, thanks, yes mine are exactly the same as the ones in the pictures.

Thanks for all your input. The airocn is not working again, and when i removed the dust cover , i heard a hiss with bubbles coming from the  valve.
You can clearly see the dye. The valve is f##ked !
Can i just remove the who body of the valve? or do you have to remove the core?

How do i post pictures on here?

Omega General Help / Aircon fill valve problem
« on: 04 May 2018, 19:05:44 »
Hi all,
I have a Y reg Omega estate 2.2.
My aircon is leaking, it passes the leak test on the machine but once disconnected, the gas goes in a few hours.
Very frustrating  :'(
To me the prime suspect is the fill valve.
Can someone point me in the right direction please for a new valve, and maybe how to fit it?
Thanks in advance. :y
