Tesla should move production to France
they can do the wiring much cheaper
snails and frogs legs and horse meat diet is much cheaper than MacDonalds etc the Yank workforce eat
what's the worst that could happen  :P

though I'm still not convinced that electric cars are that green
I put petrol in my Omega yesterday and after a long motorway run my mile range hardly went down
free miles  :) :D ;D
or maybe the wallet thickness sensor in my driver's seat  is faulty  ::)

Any battery powered vehicle is prone to fire.  Its the nature of the battery technologies in use. Quite simply, they are unstable. That's why you are not allowed to put that type of battery tech in the hold of a commercial airliner, for example.

Anyone who has used recent RC models that use one of the later Lithium type battery techs would have seen one catastrophically self combust - usually due to previous impact damage, a charging glitch, or a larger than spec discharge load. Or even temperature variations.
