Front struts are due replacing and the engine is using/losing oil at the rate of two litres every thousand miles.

Oil leak, Ive got plastic bowl and some gaffer tape you can buy of me, should sort the problem out for another 200k.

As you have listed ''clutch gubbins'' I assume it's manual.

is any of the inlet manifold (sandwich plate, inlets/injector assembly) fitting a 3.0l?

I have a 3l block that im looking out for parts for....that's assuming you even want to sell your bits. from the car

The other one is bodily better, done lower mileage and has never been written off...

White one? About four times... Last time would have been January 2014 iirc... Ball joints now have play and on mileage the front shocks are almost due... Getting a bit wallowy now.

I can't drive it indefinitely as an unliveried plod mobile, and to finish it would require time and money, plus the hassle of trying to sell a 270k thrice written off ex plod Taxi for anything like the price of an advert makes the whole exercise rather moot
