There is no initial bleep when I put it into reverse like there was before so think it could be either the speaker or mian unit will try to find the speaker nothing has come adrift from the unit that I can see that is behind the spare wheel

There's a guide for checking the system, but as a quick test: ignition to 2, engine off, into reverse and place a finger on each sensor in turn... should feel a faint buzz if the sensor is good.
Also, are your reversing lights working?
No buzz but reverse lights work ok

Omega General Help / Re: Exhaust
« on: 05 December 2019, 00:46:09 »As I understand it the cat back systems for all the V6s are the same other than the 3.0/3.2 had a twin outlet backbox a standard where the 2.5/2.6 had a single tailpipe*
* The saloon system differs from the estate system,so make sure you order one for the body style you have.
I thought it was only the 3.2 that had twin exit pipes

I got a jetex cat back system around 6 years ago and they are S/S and are guaranteed for life, I looked at mine yesterday as MOT is due and it looks as good as the day I put it on but iirc was £550 so not cheap.

Omega General Help / Re: crank sensor
« on: 12 October 2019, 14:19:44 »Before condemming it, does the car noticibly hold back under load at around 2000rpm?Classic crank sensor - but do the pedal trick first.Knock sensors can normally be repaired, if its the wiring that's mangled (most likely)
Got to check it out yet but the car just stopped then after a while started up fine so classic signs really
Why do you think knock sensor is toast?
I did the test and it showed a 0330
No not really if I give it some the kickdown works
