I speak as a former student there, although at the time I had far bigger issues than a degree in Urban Planning and German...  :-X

No. They were shit to start with, long before the GPO "trained" mongrels oppsed them further.

Did I ever mention the time my front wheel overtook me under braking for a bend, because they had overtightened the wheelbolts?  Or the time the engine fell out because they overtightened the engine mounts?  Just 2 of loads of loads of potentially life threatening incidents, all caused by those mongrels.

Home during the week was 14 Maltfield Rd, Marston and at the weekend it was Heathrow... Neither being particularly salubrious places :-X

So was I.  Im not sure if anything came out of the old Morris plant - now one of those office trading estates for the past 30yrs - in the BL days, I think it became just an extension to the Austin plant.  I'd have to ask.  I vaguely remember the bridge over the ringroad.

They certainly both produced the 'A' series engine
I thought the A series was built in Coventry?  I'd have to double check with one of the old duffers to confirm...

A series engines have been made all over the place as I understand it, with even the Japanese being involved at least at one time.  They are still being produced in Birmingham for old mini's apparently. :)

Coventry would have been producing them at one stage.

Datsun licenced it for a while.

I'll try to remember to ask the old duffers next time I'm in a pub with any of the 1960s Morris workers.

For its rust prevention properties, presumably? ;)
