Rubbish Omega, some redeeming features
« on: 13 February 2012, 13:49:28 »

So the end has come for our ownership of this glorious vehicle.

2.0 16V '95 N-reg 'Select' saloon, manual-transmission, in a dreary shade of grey/silver, 187k miles. HG replaced almost 3 years ago, but now just starting to leak slightly again I think. Burning lots of oil, probably stem seals.

Bodywork v. scruffy and uncared-for with several small-medium rust patches, NSR wheel arch, rear edge of both rear doors, bubbles under most side windows, usual stuff. Oh, and the trim on the NSF door is bust at the front, and broken off so it misses the wing as the door opens.  8)

Example pic:

Points which might make it worth something to someone:

I reckon it might pass an MOT, possibly needing an O/S headlight though (nearside one newish).

Almost everything works as it should; gearbox, brakes, clutch, even the handbrake!

Towbar; presumably fairly easy to remove and fit to A.N. Other Omega.

5-off 15" steel wheels all with 195/65/15 tyres, all legal, fronts recent but budget ~6mm left?  Could make a nice spare set of wheels for winter tyres? All 4 wheel trims present, if scuffed.

Heater matrix (genuine) only 3yrs old, and easily removable via trim 'trapdoor'.

Radiator only about 3yrs old, non-aircon type though.

Taxed 'til end of Feb, MOt 'til early March, I think. Still rolling/roadworthy, just smelly at tailpipe.

Worth £150 to anyone? Can deliver within a 40 mile radius (of Abingdon, Oxon) if you give me a lift home again.
Will be scrapped before end of Feb. if no-one has it soon.

Thanks for reading.  :)

Forgot to mention another selling-point:
Re-bushed, re-ball-jointed wishbones, genuine bushes used, non-gen balljoints.  Been on the car less than 2-yrs since the refurb.

Couple more things I've thought of...

Rear discs new only last month, pattern parts.

Entire exhaust inc cat and lambda sensor only 1 year old.  Pattern parts so louder than standard, lambda works great.

Christ I spent some money on this bloody car.  ;D
