General Discussion Area / Al Murray MP?
« on: 14 January 2015, 18:18:01 »
It seems that Nigel Farage will be getting some stiff competition during the General Election, in the form of Al Murray the Pub Landlord in the race for the seat of South Thanet!  :y

Good on him I say and we need more people of his calibre standing for Parliament?  :y

STMO The Dishonourable Member for Wakefield?  ::)  ;D

General Discussion Area / Tip Of The Day
« on: 14 January 2015, 15:05:10 »
I woke up to about an inch of snow on my car this morning.  8)

I went out to put some stuff in the boot and without thinking opened it.  ::)

All the snow slid off of the boot lid onto the rear screen which then avalanched into the boot!  :-[  >:(  :'(

Oh how I laughed!  ::)  :D  ;D ;D ;D

So Tig's Tip of the day is:  Clear the snow off your boot before opening it!!!  :y

So is it 12 or 16 fluid ounces to a pint?  :-\  Showing my age here!  ;D  :y

16 fluid oz in a US pint and 20 in a (full fat) Imperial pint.

Aha! So a US and Imperial fluid ounce is the same!?  ::)  :-\  ;D

nope ... 1 US Fl Oz = 1.04084 Imperial fl oz

A US Fl Oz is 1/16 of a US pint (29.6 ml)

An Imperial fl oz is 1/20 of an Imperial pint (28.4 ml)

:)

Sigh.  ::)

Omega General Help / Re: MV6 cooling mystery...
« on: 13 January 2015, 20:48:28 »
The answer is obvious, Martin. Just build a heated garage and keep the old girl in there every night. :y
No need to thank me. ;D

What about his car?  ???  :-\
The old girl can sleep in his car in the heated garage. Do I have to sort everything out round here? Sheesh  :(

She won't like it, but then she dosn't like going sideways either....  :-\  I guess she'll get used to it.  ::)  ;D

This 2.5 CDX Manual Estate is just down the road from me Mr Emd and I'd be happy to go and have a quick look if it's of interest.  :)

I'm sure he'd be happy to take 99p!  :y

No worries.  Good luck with your search, I'm sure that something suitable will crop up.  :y

If you have the CCleaner, go to Tools->Start Up and disable anything you deem unnecessary or alternatively disable everything and then enable stuff when you realise something dosn't work.  ;)

For example I have Spotify installed, but it was starting up and humming away in the background, so I disabled it and switch it on when I want it.  :y

It's yet another reason to measure in metric. There's no confusion with litres.

So a US liter is the same as a European litre?  :-\  :D  ;D
