A good progression would be a new shaped Kia. They're similar to Vx in that they dont have a single bad looking car and are much better than what they used to be imo

I have no opinion yet, but the new Kia saloon, whilst looking like a cheap Chinese 7Series clone, has potential :y

RWD and V8 petrol/V6 diseaseal :y Lhd only to begin with though, and no price yet :-\

New shape Pasat is strikingly good looking too.
The one they pulled out of the back of my Rover was better looking than it was seconds before....
Not a fan then?
Its fan had gone through its rad ::)
Well, I think your out of order, having the audacity to stop, of all things, in front of such a good looking car. :D
Well, there is something wrong if a modern car cannot stop as quick as a Rover ;D

I notice, where I work, VW drivers aspire to being Audi drivers. And drive as such.

Probably nowt to do with the brakes, human interface fault I suspect ???

Not that VW brakes are generally any use. I know several people who have vowed never to drive one again, after having one too many "trouser browners".

I drove my youngest boys' mates Polo the other day, the brakes were absolutely terrible!

As a "Sunday" show type of car[with the Autobahnstormers]with occasional daily use a replacement for my mig would be another Senator or earlier Vauxhall/Opel[with a 6 cylinder motor]The problem I'm having is what to replace my 1995 Jag XJ6 with,as the dragonlady is disabled and starting to struggle getting in/out of it with it riding so low.

They have that 7 year warranty! So if you buy a 4 year old Kia, and provided it's been looked after and has service history etc, you still have 3 years manufacturers warranty!!  8)  and as said they are much better than they were!  ;)

The Hyundai X40 estate looks a nice car with plenty of room. I do like the Audi A6 estate, 2.7 V6 diesel and a standard 6 speed manual box. None of that mega expensive silly DSG rubbish

Having just thundered up and down the M40 (again) today, I've come to the conclusion that whatever replaces the Omega needs to meet the following criteria:

Load space as near to as big as the Omega estate as possible
Comfortable cruiser at .. erm, the legal limit
Return 40-50mpg while doing it
Be cheap to service

.. I may be on a hiding to nothing, there, I think!  :(

that's a bit like the ideal tyre.

Loads of grip, never wears out, drives straight as a die with no tram lining at all, zero road noise and cost nine fifths of sweet f.a. to buy.

Not too much to ask, is it? ;D

Yep.. mind, unless the good lady moves down here soon I might be forced to settle for "anything that does 50mpg" .. petrol is expensive when you get low 20s.. ;D

I got a price for a front end kit from Teilo recently; and then spent all my money on petrol  :-[ :-X (well, expensive month really - petrol, hotels, Goodwood etc).. hopefully in a month or two I'll have enough for a front & back end kit for at least one car.

If I could make the Omega return more than 22mpg it'd help, too!  :-[
