If its parked on the road and has wheels on, I believe it has to be insured  :-\
Also if its a main road, it might be a idea to stick a red cycle light on the back corner at night time.

Other then that, I can't see a problem  :y

Not sure that it does need insurance to be parked up. I can think of a couple of caravans locally that have been parked up on the road side ...... can't see main road or side road making a difference to the legalities of it.  :-\ :-\ As long as it's not causing an obstruction.

The light might not be a bad idea though ....... shouldn't be too difficult to frig the caravan's battery to light a light on one side.  ;)

Not really sure tbh  :-\

Maybe one of our off duty rozzers could clarify this because i've been tempted to drag my sack o' shite back home and give it a good service.  Its not had one in the 8 years that i've had it  :-[ :-[
Not that I drag it far.  Its only 2.5 miles from the storage place to the site I use  ::)

You may well be able to park it where you reside but take it from me you park it outside my house and by the next morning you could be waking up to find.

1 it would missing it's wheels.
2 it would be burnt out,
3 it would be gone full stop.
4 it would have 27 Somalians kipping in it asking for asylum.  ;D ;D ;D

Awkward one.

I do believe you are not allowed to work on a car parked on the road (or even  wash it on the road) so where that would leave you with a caravan I have no idea.  :-\

Does that not just apply to someone making a living by working on cars ie for financial gain? If you're not allowed to 'work'on your car, would that prevent you from changing your punctured tyre for your spare ........ assuming your car has one.  ;D

AFAIK caravans by law don't have to be covered for third party risks whilst parked, unhitched, on the public highway. I think it's beacuse they're not classed as vehicles (not a mechanically propelled vehicle - well not by itself anyway), it's only a glorified trailer.

Oh yeah - caravans rule!

thanks for all the replys
looks like its okay ish then
i thought that it was only allowed to be parked on the road if it was hitched to a car as then it was insured but looks like iam wrong
but what would happen if someone hit it with there car or it rolled away and hit something?[this wont happen as the legs will be down and a wheel lock on it}
