Omega General Help / Sunroof problem
« on: 15 November 2020, 12:42:12 »
A keen buyer arrived to buy the 3.2 Elite. He was happy with the car until trying the sunroof, which I probably last opened 5 years ago. It opened OK, but wouldn't close the last 2 inches, and just kept cycling open/partly shut.  It wound closed OK on the winding mechanism, and was quite stiff to close the last bit. Is this likely to be lubrication required somewhere? :-\
He's still having the car at the asking price, and left a deposit to pick the car up next weekend, and I would like to have the roof operating OK by then.

Passed with no advisories on the 3.2. Sadly it is now going for sale due lack of use. :(

Omega General Help / Facelift fascia buttons sticky
« on: 29 October 2020, 07:07:05 »
As title, the surface of the centre panel buttons are sticky, I don’t recall cleaning them with anything strong. Any suggestions as to cause, and cure? :-\

I have a 21 KG parcel of a returned gas hob to post. Can anyone recommend the 'safest' courier in their experience?

Can’t wait to download it. It runs as smooth as a Morris Marina and with as many faults, so I can probably incur at least £10k in fines for failing to self isolate after being wrongly advised of being ‘in the vicinity’ of a Covid contact. ::)

Andrew Neil is apparently shortlisted, that should frighten the Guardian reading snowflakes. I suspect they will revolt if it happens, but I would love to see him take over.  :y

Is there another decent search engine than Google? No matter what I do it insists on offering US sites or items priced in $. I have tried the fixes suggested and using the - exclude option with no luck.

Under duress, I recently upgraded to Win 10, and, unlike Win 7, it will not accept my HP 1510 printer as default. I have spent untold hours chasing down suggestions from Google to no avail. Can any of the IT experts here tell me how to fix this infuriating fault. >:( >:( >:(

General Discussion Area / Best site to post reviews
« on: 16 June 2020, 07:49:21 »
I had a Bosch glass topped gas hob fitted last year. I have now had two replacement glass tops fitted due to cracks and scratches appearing within days of fitment. Bosch replaced them each time, but interestingly not under warranty but ‘goodwill’, suggesting that they don’t want to admit fault. They have inspected the latest one and have now refused to replace it again, blaming ‘misuse’.
We are not in the habit of trashing our household equipment, and clearly these hobs are not fit for purpose. I can’t be bothered to pursue this through Trading Standards or WHY, but I would like to post a negative review to warn others, as these hobs are marketed under various names. Apart from an Amazon review, where else is it worth posting?

Can anyone recommend good quality pattern Apple usb phone charging cables? I bought two recently, and although they appear sturdy, both need care to ensure good contact in the phone slot.  :-\

General Discussion Area / Any bird experts?
« on: 25 May 2020, 09:14:28 »
I have a small colony of the beautiful Goldfinches who visit my feeders daily. Yesterday One of this years fledglings fed another fledgling while on a feeder. I have seen Martins do this but was not aware that other birds did also. Does anyone have knowledge of this?

My sister and I were in front, and to the left as you look, of Buck house to see the Royal family and Winston come out on the balcony to acknowledge the cheering crowds. Although only 9, it made a big impression on me. A lovely family friend took us, and lifted us on to a pillar of some sort so that we could see. Very impressive even at that age. :y

« on: 10 April 2020, 14:57:35 »
Can anyone tell me howStardock got in to my PCis? It has arrived on my Win 10 PC without me consciously downloading it. It keeps reminding me to download Starddock 10, which is something to do with Windows. I am not happy when programs arrive unexpectedly. I downloaded an updated version of Softmaker Office recently to get the better word processor, but there was no mention of Stardock. :-\

Jockeys are only allowed to whip the horse 9 times in National Hunt rules????
Presumably that is 9 times per second.
Just watched the Gold Cup and at least 2 or 3 of them used it far more times.  >:( >:( >:(
