I'm guessing you'll just have to swap the mount from one car to the other so you can work?
The theory is/was sound
Had to cut my 16mm deep offset ring spanner in half to get it onto the nearside top bolt, only for the mount that I was intending to use to fall out in two halves
only saving grace being that it has failed in the same place
Temporary stopgap has been to fit the body of the spare mount to the subframe, with nut securely tightened. This has solved the main issue for now, as it is unable to fall off should the engine rock and still supports the engine. But will need to get a couple of new ones ordered...
Left the exhaust firmly attached to the '03 car, as I figured it best to quit while I was level
blowing exhaust has been given a running repair. Having been off recently for the clutch, it should fall off easily enough once a replacement is sorted
