Oil and filter, replaced steering wheel with a much better condition one and had two new tyres fitted, all on the 2.6  :y

Checked tyre pressures. Quite normal.

Guess I'll have to jack it up and check it really is just the tyres that are worn, and causing the tramlining/darting about. :(

Driven it nearly 800 miles in two days ::)

Proper minging now :-[

On the plus side, it averaged 46mpg :o

Some horrific driving, especially from lorryists and particularly during the roadworks on the M1 north of Sheffield >:( unfortunately it was dark, and the main cu moron turned off at the M61? before I could note his number/reg to report him. Had my passenger been awake I would have had him video the truck, but suffice to say tailgating the vehicle in front at a distance of three feet with flashing main beam whilst sounding an old fire engine two tone is clucking dangerous not big and certainly not clever at five miles an hour, let alone 50 with narrow lanes  >:( >:( >:(

And, it was a shitty red artic and not a fire engine before anyone pipes up ::)

If he keeps getting that wound up when driving, he'll be dead by Friday :-\

Managed to slow him to thirty for about 3 miles before he turned off, but that was only as a reaction to him nearly ramming a Micra out of the middle lane... had I been on my own, I would have simply stopped, but even at 9pm there was alot of traffic so resisted that temptation  :-\

Had that on the M6 last Thursday night on my return from Scotland, road works so down to 50, with the truck staying at 60 just not slowing at all, and it was pissing down.

Washed it, Vacuumed it, had it MOT'd ...   :)

2 advisories ...

1) front discs corroded on inner surface (was exactly the same last year :) )

2) rear brake pipes corroded (guess I'll be wirebrushing and greasing them in the summer :) )

Unlocked it and got in, started the engine...

Drove to local petrol shop...

Put some petrol in the tank...

Checked the engine oil, topped it up...

Checked the coolant - none in the header tank..... oooohhh fook...!!!! sensor needs renewing or a new header tank... maybe time for HG replacement, only did them 5000 miles ago...??

Topped it up with antifreeze/coolant mixture... shall keep my eye upon this...

Reset the heater panel.... works quite a bit better now...

Locked it up and walked away...

Its been like Christmas today, firstly the dealer turned up with a load of bits, then a FedEx chap (who couldn't speak a word of English ;D) with a couple of car parts, then Joff with some bits.
