Car Parts, bits For Sale & Wanted / Re: WANTED: AR35 Autobox
« on: 18 August 2018, 09:27:12 »
My Carlton AR35 was reputed to be recently reconditioned before I acquired it years ago with a view to fitting it to my Omega, which has now long gone.   It was stored in my dry garage for a good number of years but for the last 6 months it has been stored outside but with overhead cover.  As such I cannot guarantee its condition but can provide photos of its external condition.  I fully understand if this makes it of limited interest.

I have an AR35 out of a 3L Carlton.  Don't know if its suitable but its free if you want it, but you will have to collect from South Devon.

Omega General Help / Re: Omega A diff types
« on: 05 May 2016, 05:57:02 »
I have a limited slip diff that was fitted to a 3L Carlton (Omega A in your country), but I am not sure what ratio it is as the car was originally a 1.8L converted to 3L.  If it is of interest I will check the ratio and advise, however shipping to Bulgaria is likely to be very expensive.

Omega General Help / Re: Estate vs Saloon
« on: 28 April 2016, 09:08:05 »
I too favour estates, but check on the Road Tax rates, I think a 2003 V6 is a little more expensive than a 2000 V6, about £35 per year more if I remember correctly, so maybe not that significant in the overall scheme of things.

I have a diff available in mid-Devon, maybe not too far from you.  Its from a 3L so not the same ratio as original, but if you are trying to fix it cheaply that probably does not matter.
£20 collected.  Was working fine, only took it out to replace with an LSD.

Find one that is slightly too large and file of grind it down so that it is a good snug fit, then keep it as a specific tool for that job.

I believe its yes for the gearbox, but no for the bell housing, you have to retain your existing diesel bellhousing and bolt the petrol box to it.

I have a pair of MFL HID's in the loft, I will fetch them down and have a look at current condition if they are of interest.

Omega General Help / Re: new owner breakdown
« on: 25 March 2015, 15:38:26 »
My sensor only has a GM marking, its 90492006, and it does not have a chamfered end.  I'm not sure if it is suitable for a 99 T plate, perhaps somebody can advise.  Its the oblong plug type.

I also have a brand new non-genuine crank sensor for £15 posted.  I used to carry it as a spare in the car in case of breakdown on the move so to speak.

You haven't said what age your 3L is, but I have a brand new un-used genuine GM crank sensor still in the GM packaging bought as a spare for my 1996 3L, yours for £30 posted.  I will check on the part number and advise.

Omega General Help / Re: Another Headlight post

Your car is a preFL.  The PFL and MFL cars used the same shape headlight, so my lights would fit and they are the later and much better projector lens type, factory fitted with HID bulbs.  I bought them to go on my 96 car but sold the car before fitting.
Alan

PS Just to be clear, the FL headlights are a different shape to the PFL/MFL ones.  The original equipment HIDs are the way to go in my opinion.

You do not say what age your car is, but I have a pair of mini-facelift HID headlights with bulbs and ballasts.  These are the original fitment lights on the Elite spec cars.  £80 the pair.
Its a '97 fitted with the very first type lights with H1 bulbs. I don't think my car would be suitable to your headlights unfortunately, thanks all the same.
Simon.
