V6 timing kit?
« on: 24 January 2015, 13:34:47 »

Hi all,
Not posted in a while, just sat in background reading other peoples woes ::)

Anyway, I have a question regarding timing belt kits. Haynes book of lies says there's two types marked D or E but on the bay of e they seem to state 94-03 and as fitting all four v6's. That cant be right, can it??
The cars a 96/97 2.5 v6 and has only done 18,000mls since the last change but that was a number of years ago and I'm a bit worried about it letting go.
Any and all advice welcomed.

Cheers Simon.

Firstly, I wouldn't by from egay, no latter what it claimed to be. Period.

Gates or contitech from likes of SAF should be fine, and offer the correct options for car

There are 3 different kits for the 2.5 and you go by the engine number.  ;)

Sods law says it will be the most expensive!  ::)  ;D

Yes. Or (very) old stock. Or even used. Egay is best avoided.
