I have a CCRT2008 radio which doesnt accept the code and the code cannot be read. I was told that eeprom is corrupted so I need to reprogramm the chip.
Does anyone can get and programm 28C64 plcc32  chip to work with this radio? I dont have the dump but might get one.

Reprogramming the chip is not enough if corrupted - you will need to replace the chip also.

Make sure that the dump you obtain is for the correct part number and software version of the CCRT2008 or it will not communicate with the rest of the radio.

We are unable to supply the chips for that one, all gone.

You will need to source the correct chip - a compatable one will not work, as often a few of the pins are rotated (why most people struggle with this set) I can reprogram some of the software versions, but not all. Quite possible that it may need to be paired again.

Can you please let me know where I can find it in the unit and if this one is responsible for radio code?

The ccrt2008 i have here does not need pairing with display, nor does tech2 offer such an option.  Therefore, I would suggest that there is no pairing to worry about.

At least one good news. I went to do it at Sextons Southampton and asked them if they can read eeprom and it was confirmed that they can. Now they say that it;s not possible to read eeprom in my unit but they need to send it away for 14 days to reprogramm it. Can they read the chip and not able to programm it or did they just asked Philips for code or generated one?

I just suspect that they didn't read the eeprom, and just asked for code, where I asked them 3 times if they can reprogram eeprom, as I suspected that reprogramming might be necessary.
Well, anyway I haven't found anyone that can read this chip or reprogram new...

So its a microcontroller as opposed to serial EPROM so no hope using ponyprog.

Probably got the kit here at work (various prom programmers from Data I/O etc).

Thanks Mark. I was just confirmed that PonyProg cant do it. I’m going to Poland tomorrow, without the radio, and I’ll try to fix it there. If I won’t succeed, is there a chance to send eeprom to you to be read? If dump is ok, and not corrupted, code can be generated. If not it needs programming.
