2013 Nav Query

With a CID does the nav disc have to be inserted and read before the GPS indicator turns green :-\

just taken my disc out Rob.

Then switched ignition on  & selected NAV.   but you cannot select any destination etc. until disc is loaded.

Hope this is what you meant :-\ :-\ :-\

This one is struggling to aquire the satellites but if left on it will eventually aquire them and indicator will turn green. Any ideas??????????

Sadly, yup.

If its been disconnected from batt for a while, it could be slow to initially grab the signal, but once acquired, should be fine next time.

Its own diags mode will tell you visible and sats in use. Code reader can also tell this.

Ah the magic dance of buttons to get it in to diag mode.. which I had to do about 15 times every time I wanted to select it because I could never remember the right magic dance  ;D

Plan a route. Then press and hold MAIN for 7 seconds. Then press either MAIN or NAV again (may have to experience) - I'm after Nav Test Screen 1

First 2 numbers, top left - 00/00  (first is sats used, second is sats available)

Scenario; the disc I`ve got is scratched to hell. Insert it and walk away for 20 minutes, satnav functions appear, but the GPS indicator will only turn green when I have said functions on screen. Eject disc, gps turns red. Insert disc, another wait of about 20 mins, functions appear. :-\

Seems like I`ve got an intermittent connection. Got the GPS working ok this morning. Tried again this afternoon, no go. Got the diags. screen up, 2md & 3rd "pages" show no info, 1st page was showing 8 satellites visible, none in use :(

Update on the problem. Received a navdisc today from Lazydocker (cheers Paul, pm sent). Inserted it, voila 8) satnav now working perfect. A point to mention though, prior to using the "new" disc my GPS indicator stayed red whether the faulty disc was inserted or not but as soon as the replacement disc was inserted the HU downloaded the software from it and the GPS indicator went green. It appears that the faulty disc was in some way preventing the receiver from getting any satellite signals.

I presume the problem was something to do with it trying to acquire a 'lock' without being able to read the CD; the diag page you got to showed it could 'see' 8 satellites but was using '0' - presumably because it could see satellites known to be over the western hemisphere (say) but thought you were elsewhere, and got confused?

I wish mine were that easy to fix.. ;D

I'm retiring from fixing them now! Too many broken ones and not enough parts left to fix them! got three 2013's here now, all with faulty CDC3's and NAV Lasers.....  oh and the odd broken bezel. All of our cars have them in now (two with CID's) so it seems daft to spend any more money on parts now.
