where can i get some pins to fit into the plug that goes into the ecu as i want to finally get round to retro fitting cruise control to my car ?
-
Why are you pissing around with pins and looms? Cruise on a 2.2/2.6/3.2 is a software setting
-
The extra plug on the stalk goes to the spare plug on left of column, clutch switch is a push fit with a locking collar and plug the plug in, then a little chat with Tech 2 to make it work :y
-
my car was converted to manual so the ecu wants a clutch switch feed as its running a auto loom and manual ecu
-
Then just connect the pins from the clutch switch to the brake switch using mr haynes as reference :y think they're on the same circuit :y

i did look at the how too and it says you need to put a feed to pin 21 of the ecu even if you bridge the connections at the pedals

I dread to think which guide you read :-\ try this one :y

thanks al but thats for non butchered cars autos dont need the ecu to know when the clutch is engaged or disengaged but a manual ecu does and here in lies my problem the auto loom doesnt have the required wire to feed the ecu the correct information regarding the clutch so even if i follow the guide you used the ecu still wont activate the cruise control . it was thanks to marksdtm and TB that i found this out hence why i need a new pin to fit into the empty hole in the ecu plug once thats done then it will be the same as the guide
-
You could therefore fit an auto ecu and ignore the clutch switch altogether :-\
-
but would that not involve reprogramming the key immobilizer ect and then you have the problem of the ecu not being able to talk to the gearbox ecu ?
-
Lack of autobox pops a message on the MID, only need the chip and transponder ring for the auto ecu :y
Alarm and remote unaffected :y
-
ok will look into that once i sort the miss fire out
-
If the clutch switch works the same circuit as the brake, can you not just fit the clutch switch and wire it up in parallel to the brake switch ?
Saves ripping the ecu loom apart
-
I cannot recommend installing cruise without the clutch switch, doing so would be a bit brain dead.
So you need to Tech2 the ECU to manual, and install the wiring and fit the clutch switch.

the ecu is a manual one .this is why i want the pins to install the correct wiring

That's it I just need a couple of unused ones
-
If you get hold of a 2nd hand connector you might find you can extract a pin with a length of wire attached and then insert it into yours, assuming the unused holes in the connector receptacle are there and haven't been plugged with something.
-
Ive got some tools somewhere for removing and installing pins for RS232 type connecters and Im also scrapping a Mig at the moment, will have a look and see if I can get some pins out from the loom this weekend if I get time.

thank you :y
