Breaking OLD landrovers for a living?

There are loads of old landrovers (badged as Land Rover Santanas) dotted around the landscape here in southern Spain. Old =30 or 40 years I guess.

Now that Spain is a relatively wealthy country they are just left to rot. There are five withing a ten minute walk of my house.

Is there a demand for parts off these old cars? I guess whats left would sell here for 200 euros a ton at the scrap metal yards.

Pictures please? ;)

Some things (e.g: front or rear PTO Winches) are very valuable and sell for 'silly' money on eBay.
If possible could you could post some pics. of the Landys, then we`d have a better idea of what`s available. :y

There have been 3 "L" reg landy's gone to meet their maker this week, in the scrap metal plant across from me. Also this morning a reliant scimitar. Wonder if the weighing in bloke knows its mainly fibreglass  ;D ;D

That V6'll make up for quiet a bit of bodywork though. Boat anchors they were.  ;D

Yep. Essex V6. Legend has it the block was originally designed to be shared with a diesel project which never happened, so it's built like a brick 5h1t house. ;D

They started making them at a factory in Linares (Jaen province part of Andalucia) in 1955 ish. One of Francos many work initiatives. They churned the santanas out in their 1000's under licence. The name came from the engineering works Santa Ana (Saint Ann). They were bog basic like the series 1's.

Now the factory makes Suzuki Vitaras, Jimnys and of course Santanas!

I have had a look at the latest land Rovers sold here. They are quite advanced like their British counterparts. 4x4s are big in the countryside here.

The very next day, two went by on a flat bed truck that I presume is a breakers.

Not to be deterred i went out to nosey around the others. They are really basic. Haven't seen a winch front or rear on any.
