To confirm we are going for the 30th June.  I will be there around 10am and I will also put of signs to follow from A338 and bulford directions all the way to the hangar where we will be working.

However if you want to come you WILL need to give your names (pm) to me so I can leave them with the guard room.  On the day you will also need photo ID (passport, driving license, etc) to get into the base... heightened alert level blah blah blah....  If I dont have your name you wont get past the guards with the big guns  ::)

Can someone confirm they will bring the bbq and meat?  I will supply fizzy pop and tea.  Also bring lots of tools, I have a locking kit we can use and I cant wait to get in the pit.

Just seen this, count me in for the 30th - Ian I'll help you do your stat, mines still holding and I have the 2 rubber seals you need, all you need is the stat with 1 large o-ring and the new bolts (I also have these if you want)..

I'll be about ready to almost chop my hands off again by then :y

Will there be free Tornado rides? ;)

I am insulted you would even think of associating us with the RAF (Crab Air)

No tornados (pfffft) but I can show you what I drive on a weekday - my big old armoured ambulances.   8-) I cannot unfortunately take anyone for a test drive, it is more than my jobs worth I'm afraid.  But I can start one up for you and let you hear the fantastic noise they make - if only I could my meega to make the same growl without going wideboy with a silly exhaust box.  ::)

Oops  :-[ No insult intended :P

How about a Puma?!  Failing that, those armoured ambulances sounds pretty cool to me :y

Thanks Chris.  I might have done it by then, then again probably not!  I did manage to get a spanner on the bb and move it enough to assure myself that I could undo it.  That's about as far as I got.

Did you find you needed a new transfer pipe?  Don't really want to buy one unless necessary.

Well I bought the transfer pipe (comes with o-rings) and the two o-rings on their own, so I had four, and then ended up not using any of it as it didn't arrive in time when I was doing the job, the old ones weren't in too bad a state so got re-used, along with lots of black sealant around the edge of the pipe just to make sure - all seems to be ok... pipes only a tenner if you do end up deciding to buy one..

Well I can bring mine, and if you do need it then you can have it for a fiver, saves me taking it back / chucking it on ebay..

oh brilliant - I didn't realise you hadn't used it.   So I will source the new stat and bolts, you've got the pipe and 2 orings.  What did you use for sealant?

Cheers,

Ian

Right guys you are gonna have to pm me your real names for the front gate, or you aint getting in!! ;)     It would be helpful if you also gave which jobs you need doing and which jobs you are willing to do for others.

That way I can keep a list and make sure no-one is stuck at Checkpoint 2.....

Hey, I might be able to make this if it's on 30th June. Not 100% definite yet but it might coincide with my trip to Devon so could take a day out and call in en-route. 8-)

Gaffers - if I can, I assume you'll need me to PM you my details so I can get past the sentry's. Also, exactly where is the location?

Cheers
