just thinking  surely it would be easer and cheaper to swap the whole engine for a known good one???? especially as i know a guy that has an engine that he has had for the last four years in which he has religiously changed the oil every thousand miles!!!! :o

Well given that when I saw the 'Fordson' powered lump on Saturday that the header tank was doing an impression of a mini cherry bomb exhaust, I would say and have said before

OFF WITH ITS HEAD
Cracked head or porous head likely? Or just HG? If it was HG, would have thought it would be more 'noticable'. No experience of cracked heads or porous heads?

I seem to be having trouble locating a cheap 2.5td head.  If anyone knows of one, please do let me know.

Timbuk gave me a spin in his Omega to listen to his Induction Kit today....it may not make the car go quicker, but it sounded brilliant :y
I mentioned that I used to have 2.8i Capri's and that the 3litre sounded a lot nicer apparently because they had a three branch manifold :y
Can you not get a three branch manifold for Omega's?? If so are they dear?? Is there much restriction in the Standard Manifold?
Aren't they 3 to 1 each side anyway?

Also interested to know if the speedo reads the same constant 3mph high like the CDX?

Yep constant 3mph high......although interestingly, the ECU complained of not having the index programmed so I had to put new firmware on it and a programme index....The Boy, whats the programme index on your MV6 on the instruments?
Std 17" wheels, speedo in mph, Code Index 007

For Instrument, all mph speedos are 007, with exception of 225/55/16, which is 008

The climate seems much more controlled and less intrusive, it runs at lower fan speeds for more of the time.

As it should imo.....slower air flow = colder air.

Just thought id see if cheapo tech2 could read version number......no it carnt..... but can read trouble codes

I got 32 not present ....Left solar sensor low input
34 present..........Right solar sensor low input

Is this the sun sensor? I thought there was only the one, in the middle of the dash  :-/
Wonder if the facelift one is 2-in-1 and more advanced? Has a different pn...

LOL, didn't take you long to 'practice' - I assume by now, every single system on all cars on the drive are at the very latest versions ;D

If you're really bored, get some live data downloaded to PC to use as a reference (see snapshot stuff). And send them to me ;D

I hope so  ::)

Did mine need any?
When I was there, only checked autobox, that was up to date.

what about that slow drip we spotted in my garage? right at the back on the drivers side.....
Haven't been able to get that again.  I wonder, if under the high pressure that builds up, if the rear coolant hose may weep?

Your welcome as always.

And now there is a Tech 2 in Nottingham.......and I have to say that the upgrade to version 3 software on a facelift climate setup is VERY worthwhile!

Carnt remember if you checked the version on mine at the lakes?  :-[ I know you checked the g/b version....1a (10)

Would a 2003 have v3?  :-/

What difference does it make?
0A TD (ie hex for 10) ;)

I'm sure MDTM will let you know v3 climate differences...
