Not today but recently, sacrificed a pair of Depo headlamps (which were crap beam wise) for the clear plastic lenses and put them on my HID headlamps which, well, weren't clear! An expensive way of achieving some half decent lights but I bought the Depo lights when I first got my car and didn't know any better!!!

I thought the depo's quite good re beam tbh. Although they did have what I assume must have been night breaker bulbs in.  :-\

Topped the oil up before driving to a friends wedding tonight and my folks on Sunday for Christmas.. dropped the (*!&@£(*!&@£ oil filler cap into the engine bay and can't retrieve it.

This week is really starting to get on my nerves.

All done. My car has a new smell, it's called "oil filler cap melted to exhaust" - can't see it, can't feel it, can't find it.. but it's in there somewhere, cooking.

Good job new ones are only a tenner and Vx had them in stock..

Fitted the winter tyres back on again. Bought them last year and had them fitted to a second hand set of wheels bought off e-bay. Without doubt, they are one of the best things I have invested in, as grip levels are greatly increased in the snow and frost (not that we have really seen any this year round here) and tram lining is totally eliminated, I suppose due to the softer compound etc.  :) :)

My headlamps are genuine Vauxhall lamps but with cloudy lenses. The Depo lamps were bought some time ago when my car had the original non projector early style of headlamps but even with Nightbreakers I wasn't that impressed! I bought the pair of HID lamps for my car then the Depo lamps went on Swmbo's car which again had the early style of lamps. I then got a pair of genuine non HID projectors for her car so the Depos became spare. Still with me!!! Only now am I semi impressed with the lights. I might treat it to some new bulbs, decent ones though not Ebay specials. Where's the best place for decent ie Philips or Osram D2S bulbs?

What I meant was, are the lenses you fitted marked D2S for HID`s as the non-HID lenses throw a different beam pattern and obviously are not designed for HID bulbs

Oh, I see. I see my cunning plan falling apart now! No, I wouldn't have thought so as the Depo lamps were standard bulb projectors :-\

I still have the original Vauxhall HID lamp lenses so I can check and or 'refurbish' them to go back on. I'm getting quite a dab hand at this having refurbished the lamps for the wifes car with wet and dry on the lenses and new ali adjusters!

They don't seem much different beam wise, just a whole lot brighter...

Compare the lenses side by side to see the difference :y

I washed it, waxed it, gave it another two coats of sealant, cleaned up the brakes, went over the wheels with quick detailer and tyre shine, hoovered it and dressed the inside.

Now it's raining.  >:(

Have got a lovely new air freshener though. Ambi Pur Breathe Easy. Smells lovely. Like Vicks rub for when you have a cold but not quite as strong. Has mint in it too. Smells great.
