If only we could herd them into one space and let them be as irresponsible as they want to be with each other.

This has been TheBoy's quest for years and finally people are starting to listen. ;D

We used to have a place like that.  They now call it Australia.  :)

If done properly, lockdown would be the first step of a long term plan that would allow gathering of data to reduce the need for shutting the whole country.

Our government has long proved incapable of that, so we're oppsed.

The best practice depends on who you ask.

The economy will recover, the dead less so.

Hancock does a good impression of a man who is completely out of hid depth. Wouldn't trust him as a doctors receptionist never mind Secretary of State for Health.

I really do think that we seem to be missing the point of this Self Isolation and keep everybody safe.

Just read that B&Q have now decided to open around 60 of there stores as from tomorrow .."after the lockdown".

Now maybe I,m missing the point here but who has lifted this Goverment impossed stay at home policy .Seems that major retailers have now decided that as they have lost enough money that they are just going to open and to hell with it all.

I can see this situation lasting a whole lot longer

To be unfair to our doctors receptionist, he's probably a nicer more caring individual, who cares more about the health of the nation than she does about the health of the "customers" that she deals with. Mind you Stalin, Polpot and Hitler would be more caring.

It could be, although I don’t know, that they will somehow operate an online click and collect system with each store and/ or operate a door kiosk type system where one member of staff, wearing face mask and gloves, deals with each customer in turn from the queue outside. Halfords are doing this, with other staff members shooting around the customer empty store to retrieve what the Customer wants.

As for non-essential stores opening, that is I am sure a good way off ;)

Indeed, this is exactly how there stores that are currently 'open' operate. Likewise Homebase and Helfrods :y

Helfrods are nominally click and collect, but if you rock up needing bulbs or cleaning supplies etc, then you queue up and they go and fetch it for you  8)

Sounds like she is moonlighting at my local surgery. Tried dealing with ours recently and she is an evil little tyrant. She has even been reported for refusing a cancer patient a doctors appointment. When his wife complained she and her husband were struck off the register and told to find themselves a new surgery.
People who complain to the GP,s about her find she has their full support. I can only surmise this is because the business makes plenty of money and the GP,s don't get bothered too much by the great unwashed.

Read the news

"In the newly re-opened stores, perspex screens will be fitted to checkouts and two-metre floor markers will indicate the distance shoppers should maintain from each other"

So..just like Asda, Tesco, etc.
