There are those who will do exactly that, because their wonderful, clever President says so: at least it will raise the average IQ of America when so many morons kill themselves! :y :y 8)

Link works ok for me, Baza. This story is about folks who've had their water cut off for not paying the bill. Can't get a wash and have to put their shit in the bin.

Now that second link does work :y it's just the yahoo one wouldn't let me view it.Back to Trump and my son[who lives in California] tells me the manufacturers of bleach have had to put out a statement telling people not to inject the stuff, but I suppose as bigron says some morons will believe it to be a good idea because the President has said so and need to be protected from themselves to stop lawsuits left right and centre.

Injecting bleach? Always best to let people know it's not a good idea in case they are uncertain. Much like drying your cat (or whippet) in the microwave. :)

Michigan is one of the most corrupt, shittiest States, and the Greater Detroit area is easily the poorest, most deprived part of it. It's not a race thing, simply have or have not.

If they haven't paid the bill for six months, then it shouldn't be a surprise that the water was turned off. It's not right, and it's not fair, but the US is a very different place to the socialist softly, softly existence we have here, and it is all to easy to forget this.

If you have Netflix, Flint Town or Poisoned Water will give you an insight into suburban life in Michigan. Not easy viewing.

Stupid people will do stupid shit regardless of who tells them. The slightly brighter people won't do it simply because they have been told to...

Those stupid enough to think it's a good idea deserve the consequences. :-X

I quite like old Donald but at times he does seem hopelessly out of his depth. Probably win a second term as POTUS though. :)

Had several holidays in the USA all been great & we were treated very well by the Americans we met, I got the impression that they are very proud of their country unlike some in the UK who like to dump refuse in lay-bys etc. Good & bad in all races as for Trump he says what a lot of people think and got to agree he will walk in again easily.

So did we, a number of visits seeing and living with our American friends who had lived in the UK working on F111’s of the USAAF. Both were retired military, and had served in the Vietnam war. I agree, all their friends we met, and other Americans were really friendly.

But, they all had one thing in common; they detested their politics, saying it was driven by money and the way their electoral system worked it was the richest who got into power, not necessarily by a long way the best for the job!

Trump is the perfect example of all that these patriotic Americans hated! >:(

Oh, yes, these two, had been both senior officers. The Vietnam War was something they were ashamed of and never wanted to talk about. Therefore they firmly supported the Republicans, but did not support idiots  :D ;)

Have to agree, Don is terribly funny and all that, as long as he's not happening to you. C-19 may well be the first adversary he's ever encountered in his life that can't be bullied, bought, bribed or slandered into submission and his laughable absence of leadership is shining through nice and clear. Will he get re-elected? Probably, countries get the governments they deserve.

Cant generalise about the USA any more than you can generalise about Europe. Its far to big, diverse and populated for simplistic generalisations.

Which in Trump's case is a good thing no?  ???

He hasn't launched and dragged us into an illegal war costing millions of lives and trillions of dollars, he's bombed less than Obama did and if he's guilty of anything militarily it's of being too dovish where he probably should have been stronger, when he withdrew US troops from Syria allowing the Russians and Turks to fill the gap.  :-\

The there's North Korea.  He's done more to try and solve that problem and bring North Korea into the international community than any US president.  He hasn't succeeded sadly, much to his opponents glee, but I think he should get some credit for at least getting where he did.  :)

Yes, you could say he has eased tensions with NK. That was after he threatened to obliterate the country and called Kim Youg Un a little rocket man. When confronted he backed down. Dovish or cowardly?
Since the NK has test fired various missiles and rockets without a peep from the US. Started up it's nuclear processing plant a few times as well.
He ordered the assassination of the Iranian general (his name escapes me) and, in retaliation, Iran fired missiles into American bases in Iraq injuring quite a few American soldiers. First off, he said no Americans had been injured then, when it came to light that many had been damaged by blast injuries, he pulled them out. After, of course, shooting off his big mouth about what he was going to do. This week he ordered his navy ships in the gulf to "shoot down"  ;D Iranian gunboats if they bothered the fleet. Iran laughed.

He is a joke.

Of course Trump is a joke.  He's a complete clown and like I said earlier always provides a laugh.  :)

North Korea have been setting off their rockets and building nuclear bombs for years, long before Trump came on the scene and successive American presidents have done little to solve the problem.  At least Trump tried.  His threats to obliterate the country were in response to Kim's threats to bomb Guam and I think any US president would have reacted similarly if US sovereign territory were threatened thus and rightly so.  At the end of the day Trump's hard ball approach brought Kim Jong Un to the negotiating table, something no other US president has achieved, but lets just dell on the ultimate failure of those talks hey?  ::)

The American people elected him as their president and are likely to do so again, which to my mind says more about the state of American politics than anything.  ::)

The bleach and UV light incident showed him up for what he is, a buffoon,
he said Disinfectant ,not bleach
we all use anti-bacterial mouth wash ,same principle ,if you could rapidly fill the lungs with a suitable antibac , then remove all of it and any excess mucus etc ,which i agree would be a technical challenge , it could work  :P
similarly the use of UV light is effective to kill the virus ,BUT it must be UVC spectrum , i've been using UVC lamps for water treatment/purification for years ,very effectively  :)
when they manufacture surgical masks, they use UVC to kill germs pre packing ,
unfortunately light tends to go in straight lines  but lungs have many nooks and crannies ,making it difficult to implement  :(

and exposure to UVC kills good cells too ,and gives you arc eye if you look at the emitted light   :(

Trump was just putting the ideas out there , it's up to the doctors, scientists, inventors  to brainstorm and fine-tune the ideas  :)

disclaimer: WARNING don't drink disinfectant while shoving a 4 foot long UV lamp up your bum

Alcohol and mouthwash are disinfectant
4 foot UVC germicidal lamps tend to be made out of quartz glass ,which is very brittle ,can shatter ,possibly in your sh!tter  :o
other "safer*" 4 foot long items are available ,if your that way inclined  ;)
small print
Safer* probably not that safe though ,not that I've tried

I'd never drink disinfectant, but the 4ft up the bum.....hmmmm.......don't knock it till you've tried it.  ;D

Beer cures everything!  :y

One of my favourite YouTube watches is Auto Europa Naples. Chap called Bill does entertaining reviews of various cars they have in stock. It was suggested that whiskey cured Batflu, which he said was great as it gave him legitimate reasons to consume more :D However, in his last video, he had been told that it needed to be 100 proof... So he switched from Jack Daniels to Knob Creek and it was causing havoc with his speech and memory ;D

Quote
Americans are being told they must play by New York rules — with all the hardships they entail — despite having neither New York’s living conditions nor New York’s health outcomes, Bret Stephens writes.  https://t.co/gviT5f3hoF

As a thought, our Donald isn't great at expressing what he is trying to say.

What if, in his mind he was churning through an earlier meeting regarding potential pharmaceutical ways of dealing with Batflu including jabs... He then goes to the daily press conference (because media and populous alike expect daily updates on government action etc, regardless of whether they actually have anything new to add or not).

In an attempt to give some new encouragement and a progress update he suggests antiseptic injections as a promising idea when he actually meant antibody jabs.

I don't believe that he is genuinely retarded, but his mind is clearly all over the place, and he always tries to reduce everything to its simplest form as a defence to the mental chaos. As POTUS, he is the one person the US population expect to be at the front of any situation, whereas here the Cabinet are sharing the load of the daily briefing...

You can't blame him for letting the cracks show occasionally  :-\

How about if he stopped trying to make himself look clever, which he definitely isn't, and listened to the people who are.

The one skill, above all else, that a successful leader needs, you mean? ;)

Exactly :y :y

Thank God most, if not all our Prime Ministers in modern times, since Churchill, have been able to express themselves.

All Trump can do is say everything is "Great", he is "Great", their country is "Great", the American people, apart from Democrats, are "Great". ;D ;D ;D ;D

If you also want a laugh about Donald, see what Google suggests is the leader of the DEMOCRAT party:

"People also ask
Who is the leader of the Democratic Party?
Donald Trump (New York), 45th President of the United States (2016-current), Registered Democrat until 2016"

Talk about fake news!! ::) ::) ;D ;D ;D ;)

2 years ago I had Rory Bemner to an event I organised - this was the height of the Mexican wall thing with Trump. Doing his Trump impression he came out with - “Hadrian had the right idea  - he built a wall right across England , Hadrian is a great guy and a personal friend of mine”
