;D like that ;)

Well, it made it back home... 520 miles on just under a tank, say 11 gallons... So all in all 47mpg. Which is nice.  8)

It has used a litre and a half of oil in the process  :-X
.    What car?
Merc A160L with 191k under it ;)
.                                       Ahh not too bad on fuel then but rather heavy on oil :'(

Had a new offside rear door central locking actuator fitted on the Range Rover, a very common fault apparently but they still use the same switch on all the new models crazy..🙂

Hah, it was the nearside on mine .. went right as the MOT was due, which was handy (since that's an MOT fail!).

Cost somewhere in the £220 region (had it done at the same time as the alternator so I've amalgamated the labour in my running costs spreadsheet) for me at the local indy.

Got my actuator from LR independent £25 & he charged me £30 to fit it so well pleased with that , nearside was replaced just before I purchased it .

There was a 1 in front of the price of my actuator! ;D But they advised to only fit genuine LR as aftermarket don't last (in their opinion).. labour was a little more maybe (£60 rings a bell). But then again, it had just failed the MOT because of it, so I was between a rock and a hard place  ;D

Be interesting to see how the genuine LR part fares against the cheaper one on mine , although mine is not used every day so could make quite a difference, got to have the EPB sorted next I don't think the previous owner used it so makes the odd "screeching noise" when I have used it .

Before I swapped out the engine and gearbox, my 1989 escort 1.3 popular used to do about 100miles to the pint. Of oil.  ;D

It was great for disposing of used engine oil.  :y
I had a (very knackered) Ital van for work when I first started. It would start the day with all fluids topped up, and at lunchtime, I'd pour in 2l of oil and 2l of coolant water, which would usually see me through until the next morning, when it would be topped up again.

It only did between 150-200 miles a day :o

I wonder if the same as the Jaguar ones?

Not had a rear fail yet, but both fronts have.  Part cost was about £80+VAT each, with a heavy discount, but I fitted myself.

.

Think they could be the same or certainly very similar a very common failure , the chap who did mine buys 40 at a time reckons that's a 12 month supply for him on average.
