Right good progress... i had no access to dye only sniffer and had no joys with it..

Air con man out to hose filled with dye and nitrogen or something... next day got under car dye along passenger chassis rail... from engine it bay it seems the pipe along chassis rail has gone.

Lukily is a small pipe and rest seem ok so going to swap that section of pipe out and see how we go

Removed both headlights one is perfect. Otherside was rattling around. Found it adnuster to be broken.

Oven 5 mins  cover came of easy. Adjuster remvoed. Gonna machine one out of aluminium

Refit and put light back on .. still think its level sensors though as other light would surely move

Bulb cover off and inside of light rattling around.. so thinking thats my issue..

New adjusters needed...

Is lense needed to be removed and inner removed to get to it or can ot all be done leaving light intact.

Replaced both level sensor on car for headlights and still have no error message on dash

Low fld vis

When ignition turned on and turn headlights on they move slightly down slightly jerky stop then message is on screen on dash.

Could it be anything other than sensors on arms as said both been replaced. Little arms are staying attached.

No dye was used no...

So ill have to use sniffer to check to leaks.

Hmm ok so possible rad again...

No its not in eco haha although many have done it.

Fused checked all good...
I tapped the valves Hp and Lp sod all came out. So it has dumped a fair bot of gask somewhere.

Prpbs either pipes nackered. Rads nackered. Or maybe the valves are shot...

Investigation required.

After a few attempts and various aricon places i still have yet to sort my air con working on omega

From another post ive gather the following list so things to check and do...

In order of common failure.
Condenser (replaced 18month ago)
Hp/LP valves, HP valve gums up needs cleaning with carb cleaner,,
LP fit a new core, (fitted new one 18months ago)
Pipe under battery box along chassis rail.

Connecting block were dryer is bolted to condenser, leaks.
Compressor seals, and seals were pipes join.(new seals and new drier fitted last week)

 Pressure sensors, just stop working.
Expansion valve, up behind dash/glove box.
Evaporator,, very rare to go, whole dash out to replace.

Also check electric plug on bottom of compressor, for broken wire. (Checked and actually swapped for another compressor i knew was good and filled with pag oil before refit)

So as of now it has a new comprsssor new dowdy seals.
New rad
New drier new seals
New valve core

Vaccumed.... held
Regassed

Freezing cold was shocking cold.
48hrs later clutch not engaging.

What would people say is the way forward. Swap a sensor. Or try swapping pipework etc.

It does 2 miles to work 2 miles back.. but does longer journeys regulary does good runs of 30 to 40 miles up and down motorway gets good blasts on occassio  and is used to go on holidays in which are few hundred mile runs at a time..
It done that since 60odd thousand miles and been fine.

No light is on now since moving second sensor post main cat  so that is fine now.
Sensors were all replaced when welded new boses in so all four are new and have no light so probobly is a precat issue.

3.0 pipes were probobly cheap crap pattern cats not doing much.

On the 2 mile journey i let it warm up a bit before leaving for work... and when i arrive at work i leave it running for 5 to ten mins.. idle is always 550 ish (not cold idle)  so no fuel enrichment. And temp gauge rising.

Done ut fir years never had issues.. if it is that thats messed the original 17 ysar old.cats up... its fine ill just get cats sorted and be ok for another 17 years haha.

Thinking it precats are shot probobly slightly blocked or broken away inside. Causing back pressure build up slightly.... but as second sensor moved behind main cat lambdas are reading fine as main cat ok.

Im either gonna get good sports cats install in 3.0 sownpipes and refit them.

Orrr try and pruchase type approved 3.2 downpipes with new precats ;)

Two miles isn't enough...

It won't ever get up to temp, so will always be running with fuel enrichment, not only does this kill the fuel consumption, but you may as well pour petrol down the exhaust.

I would wager that if you drove it an extra 20 miles on each commute, the light would go off.

And you could move the bosses if you haven't already.

 ^^^^^ this,,,

You short run is killing the poor thing, it needs to stretch it's legs, as DG said a good 20 mile run,
