Hello to everyone here
« on: 21 September 2006, 14:53:13 »

Hello everyone,

good to find this forum. Also good to see some familiar and friendly screen names here, especially those who've helped me sort out my Meega problems in the past and saved me a lot of money and grief, also saved me from getting rid of a car that I'd wanted for a long time and spent a fair proportion of the early months of ownership wishing I hadn't bought due to the problems with it (especially after my first, and last, ripping off by a Vauxhall dealer  [smiley=cry.gif]). The problems are now solved  [smiley=happy.gif]and I've been concentrating on improving the car. Not by much, but Cruise control is now fitted (although it doesn't work fully) and the paint chips are being sorted.

I'm no expert on modern cars or Omegas, but hopefully I can make a positive contribution to the forum.

Hello again TheBoy,

Fitted the stalk (2nd hand), got it enabled. Switches on, switches off, increases speed (I button), Doesn't decrease speed (R button) and no Resume (R button). The common factor being the R button.

Don't know if any of you guys know how to test if this button has failed? Going to try to clean connections, but suspect that new stalk is required.

Sounds like you got the correct stalk (the diesel one doesn't come on at all). Being a 4 pin connector, you can just use a multimeter to check...

Or if you have access to Tech2 or similar, do a live data display, and monitor from there. But, I think you are correct, the stalk sounds Donald Ducked. Assuming you didn't bend/break one of the pins when you fitted it ;)

How much did it cost to get enabled, was it dealer job?

Also, I have a poll running under General Chat about whether cruise was enabled, I would appreciate if you get the time to respond...

Welcome Ghosts!

Assuming you have the correct stalk, it would appear the 'R' button is duff.

But, although handy, it's not essential.

Laidback 66, I'm in Littleover. If you see a Lagoon blue 2.2 being driven badly round the Derby ring road, that'll be me!  [smiley=grin.gif]
