2001 2.6 MV6 Auto
« on: 11 January 2010, 15:57:00 »

This is more aimed at any Irish members, although if any of you in the UK are willing to travel across the Irish sea, it could be yours too! To re-import back to the UK is very straight forward.

I am selling my 2.6 MV6 Auto very reluctantly but unfortunately I need to get a car with a smaller engine.

Vauxhall Omega 2.6 MV6 Petrol
Mileage: 70,500 miles
Four speed Auto with sports and winter mode. I have had the gearbox software updated to latest version which has greatly improved the gearchanges.
17” Alloy wheels
Traction Control
Dual zone climate control. I have also had the software for the climate upgraded so the temperature is controlled much better than before and is much more subtle.
Heated front sports seats
CCR2006 Cassette/Radio/4 cd changer with steering controls
Cruise Control
Factory fitted immobiliser and alarm
Electric windows front and rear
Heated side mirrors
Xenon headlights (4300K) with washers
Fitted with Parrot CK3100 Bluetooth phone kit.
Front and side airbags

Comes with two keys, one of which has been excellently repaired by Martin Imber from this forum.

Timing belt and tensioners changed at 54K
New battery in July
New front brake discs and pads fitted in September.
Cam cover gaskets changed in September.
Four new tyres fitted in October.
New HBV (heater bypass valve) and coolant flush in November.
All new wishbone bushes (Genuine GM bushes) at the front. (November)
New exhaust back box (November)
Service history. (Last serviced in November at 69K)

I have fixed any small faults that were with the car when I bought it and is running like a dream. All of the major work such as timing belt have been done so all it will need for the next few years is servicing. As you can see from the pictures the bodywork is immaculate with no dents at all. It really is in excellent condition and has been cared for in its life. I personally have washed and hoovered the car every week since I have had it so it always looks like it has just been valeted.

Asking for €2500. Would be willing to swap for the right car.

Hi Eric,

The car is provisionally sold to an OOF member who is due to view and collect Monday.  If for any reason this falls through I will let you know.

Regards,
Richard

I bought this car and am more than pleased with it,just put new rear discs on as i thought the ones it came with were about ready for change and it gave me something to do when i got it on the ramp last week.Pleasant surprise was the handbrake innards were all new and shiny looking,my guess would be the handbrake was probably overhauled at the last mot in uk.Thought i would fit new plugs as RichardH said he had not ever.Plugs fine, shows in the service history they were changed at 54K which i had not noticed.
Downside ,its got crap tyres,triangle/backdiamond but loads of tread/nearly new and they are noisy, thought i had a bearing going at the front but couldnt isolate the noise, swapped the tyres front to back and the noise went with them(to the rear).
Got the omega bug now and fancy a 3.2 MV6 or Elite with leather and sunroof. If i find a nice one this will be for sale again.
Its still on Irish plates and i can confirm it is free to re-register in the UK as it was registered here before.
