HI Lozzy been away for a while as i lost the baby but back now and starting to feel a bit better, been getting reaquainted with my bass again as i have missed it so much, those hf units are very impressive and i can understand as i have replaced my tweeters a few times already, we have a young son who has been brought up with both cars and loud music and loves it and helping with set-up and testing, and always demands the stereo turned up when driving up the road, keep up the good work and any new pics of the progress on the install or enclosure assembly cheers Kack

So We have an Update I am still alive lol theres been a slight change no longer 80 speakers but 100 now you have got to stay a head of the game

here we go :

roof is now MDF lined all the way along and bolted to the sunroof for extra strength

Next Up was the supports for the subs there are now 48 subs going in to the car so theses supports will need to take about 400KG in weight so they have to be heavy duty and not move  :D

test fit of the supports

i doubled them up to spread the weight a bit more

and the foamed the gaps up and set the floor down

Next i had last week off the 11th so I cracked on with the sides

I used carboard to cut round the archs to get a snug it then transferd it to wood

the completed wooden side

then there was 2!

next the top part of the enclosure had to be built this part was pretty simple

this what you will see when opening up the door  :y nice and snug!

when you wind down the window this is where some more mids and tweeters will be hidden

I then had to make the back of the sides this enclosure is huge! the omega is like a tardis

thats as far as I am at the moment more to come in the next comming weeks  :y

the sides are next to be doubled up so they are at least 2 inchs thick  :D

hi guys well after owning my omega for about 8 months now im finally starting to build my system up in my CD estate

now i know a lot of you will be saying why? well let explain a bit about me im a car audio enthusiast i love music and very passionate about it i do a little bit of mixing here and there.

there are three types of car sound system SQ SQL and SPL

SQ is were you are trying to replicate how the music was produced in the studio and to achieve a flat frequency responce

SQL this is my sort of system it has a little bit of sound quality but thats not the main focus its the L part which stands for Loud :d this sort of system is the ones that have the gut wrenching bass  :D

SPL this systems are often modified beyond road use were talking bullet proof glass miles of cables concrete steel are all part of construction the main focus on this sort of system is to score the highest decibel reading possible this is done at the cars peak frequency and generally wouldn't play music

there's a little basics for you

so what do i have in store for this poor omega

well the aim of this car is be able to play most music at an obscene level across a wide range of frequency's and still be drivable.

heres the kit list

Source And signal Processors
Alpine 9887r Full speed ipod Head unit
Audio Control Epic Center Bass Restorer
Auto Leads Bass controler
3 Vibe Delta Box Line Drivers

Speaker Components
4 JBL 4Inch Coaxial - These are going in the A pillars
8 Eminence Alpha Tweeters
20 8Inch Eminence Alpha MidBass Drivers
32 JBL GT4 !0inch Subwoofers

Amplification Front Speakers
8 JBL 75.2 2 channel amplifiers 150wrms x2
2 JBL 75.4 4 channel Amplifiers 150wrms x4

Amplification Bass

4 Sundown Audio 1500AZ Mono Amplifiers around 2000wrms at 13V!

Power Supply
2 Irragi 260a alternators
Brax volt Meter
12v Stepdown for running car electrics and Front amps
adjustable regulator for charging at 16v
7 2V 580ah battery Cell to show 14volt for bass system

heres a few sample pics of the kit  :D
Front amps

and the subs :D

the back of the car has been emptied this week end i shal be removing all the interior and the trims to start building
