Omega General Help / NCDC2013 a question for the boffins
« on: 23 February 2024, 18:34:51 »
Hi Guys
I have managed to reacquire my Miggy after having serious sellers remorse only took 4 years but I have her back a few gremlins have crept in two which are niggling me are on the Head unit
it wont take a date does the time no issue but every time I set the date it defaults back to 1 Dec 2004 silly but it is annoying when it comes up on the display
the second is a pain someone tried to remove the head unit from the car without the right keys and pulled the plastic facia plate away from the head and damaged some of the clips so it does not line up right and all input has to be via the steering wheel controls any one know of a head unit repair guru or maybe a dead head unit I can work with

Omega General Help / Re: Martin Imber
« on: 23 February 2024, 18:26:44 »
Does anyone know if Martin Imber is still in business, I found a website but there is no address to send key fobs to.
Spoke with Martin late last year about a key fob repair he was having problems getting actual fobs if the rubbers where knackered but could still do the internals

Hi Guys
Thanks for your advice I have been lucky and found an Auto Electrician. Who it appears in this area are a dying breed. He popped round to me it took 5-10 mins and cost me £40.00 less than half of what one guy wanted
He knows if way around an Omega as he said hes ha a few of them seems to be a Vauxhall guy as hes run Vectra's and Calibra's as well
Not sure I'm allowed to post his contact number but I have it if anyone needs it for work in the Teesside area

Timpsons will cut and program a new key for you, providing you have the blade from an old one.

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Key programming
« on: 08 February 2022, 14:49:19 »
Hi Guys
I have just got my Omega back sold it as I could not afford the fuel with the mileage I was doing now retired so I can and she was for sale so got her back. Problem only one key and that was ropey so the stealers say keys fobs of Omegas are now a non serviced item. But they gave me a source in London who have original GM stock keys and fobs not cheap [KLCK.Ltd]
But they dont program them so is there a Tech 2 master in the Saltburn/Redcar area who could reprogram my new fob for me.
its the 3 button remote for a 3.2 Elite saloon
cheers Richard

Hi Guys
Been away from the site for a couple of years as I had to get rid of my pride and joy as I was killing it with serious mileage. Now I have retired and my old motor turned up on FB so I grabbed it and I'm as happy as a pig in what ever pigs are in soon as I have detailed her I will post some pics

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Re: Sat Nav help needed
« on: 27 July 2016, 19:28:45 »
Hi All
many thanks to all who advised fortunately it was the connection at the back of the cage I have now got a far better signal than I have ever had the display is crystal clear why that has changed I don't know but it is great. As always will an Omega there is a down side I now have to find a new cage for the unit as who ever had had it before had buggered the back plate of the cage which was part of my problem may the gods protect me from the Main Dealers
Thanks

Hi
I Have not seen the icon go green of late and yes the head unit has been out recently [have I done a wally and missed a connection] I replaced the climate control panel
I don't think I missed any connection at the rear of the head unit

Hi Guys

Thanks Dave DND  The Boy and RossPhim I think this is heading in the right direction the speedo is fine but the GPS indicator top right of screen is in red I think that may be the problem
The unit still thinks its in the north of England but when the map display is up the cursor still moves over the map but all the fine detail is missing
I'm not sure how to check for sat reception I will dive back  into the manuals and see what I can find
I will report back if I find out anything

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Sat Nav help needed
« on: 24 July 2016, 22:09:16 »
Hi All
I have a 2001 51 plate 3.2 Elite saloon which has been behaving fine until the last couple of days the sat nav has been showing a problem its lost I live in Bromley Kent and the Satnav thinks it's in Sutton Coalfield hence no sat nav its using a proper disc  and has worked fine up till this happened anyone have any idea what its done
If it helps the disc ejects fine. Sat nav accepts destinations can still see previous and stored destinations it just says in the case of my home that I'm 79miles away when I'm
sitting on my drive way. :'(
and to top it all I'm about to need it as I'm off across the country in two weeks time
Help!!
Cheers
