I'm trying to get a date set well in advance so people can plan ahead to get maxinum attendance :y

Just pick a weekend 4 weeks in advance - most people can adjust around that or get a day off if working :)

Heres an idea......How about the 3/4 of November.....most places have firework displays the nearest weekend to Nov 5th.....that way have a day of omegas and then take the family to see a display to finish the day off :y
Gives you loads of time to hum and har about it ;D :D ;)
Comes to summat when the southerners have to try to organise the northerners ;D ;D

I might might might be able to make this one... assuming I can lay off the booze for one Saturday night. Haven't been fit to drive on a Sunday afternoon for a long time, ah the chores of living 5 minutes' walk to all the student union/pubs/clubs ::)

After Speaking to Hotel 21(bruce) the other day, I suggested that we have the next Jockular Omega's meet on the East side of the country and I thought that North or South Queensferry would be a good spot under the Forth Bridge any thoughts

South Queensferry would be very handy !!!!! :y
Some decent pubs, restaurants, chippies and a decent curry house too.

Suits me... in fact it's just about walking distance (takes about an hour) so if I do end up a little worse for wear on the previous Saturday night I could still make it ;)
I've got proper parties on the 3rd and 24th November (one is a Halloween party, other a 21st) so the days immediately following those are not ruled out, but not guaranteed to be sober... therefore I'll softly vote for the other three. However it's no big deal either way for me.

We still haven't decided on a location yet...
Before comitting to either North or South Queensferry can we identify how much space we need and what we want to do when we get there!
Both Villages are busy on a Sunday and we might have problems getting all Miggys together at one location.
Also - if we are doing a barbeque again we might need to head out of town.
Give me your views and I'll take it on board to find a suitable location.

I think the meet should just be a meet, where we just get together for 1-2 hours in the car park at North Queensferry under the bridge to just chat and talk about car's, no BBQ etc just a chance for people to put names to faces :y
But thats only my view, if anyone has any other view please add to the thread :)

Not aware of a car park under the Bridge in North Queensferry - unless you mean Deep Sea World?
Don't you mean South Queensferry - at the Hawes Inn?

If you go through North Queensferry to right under the Rail Bridge, immediately under the northmost tower, there is a small carpark with views backwards over the harbour towards the road bridge, if I recall correctly. Took some photographs there previously.....
Deep Sea World would be good for wives/kiddies if they did not want to talk cars and look at engines. I agree with Jim ref. BBQ etc. I would prefer a natter for a couple of hours rather than also potentially buying scran to get soaked in the piddling rain and wasted...

Meant to say that if you pan the image in my previous post around a wee bit you see the Deep Sea World carpark to the right of the bridge, access from the turn off above, with access to the suggested carpark made via the road around the harbour.....

Yes Kev I can confirm there were plenty witnesses at the lakes meet, supossed to have turned up on saturday, but managed to make it for lunchtime Sunday 1200 hrs or thereaboots, as most were leaving ;D ;D...........he did have an excuse though, think it was something to do with jetlag ::)

Last question - is North Queensferry on the Fife side of the bridge, I know macdonalds on the south side before the toll booths, so I presume that I will have to cross the bridge.

The car park is over the other side of the bridge (from where we are), on the Fife (north) side. You will have to cross the bridge, and it'll cost you. You don't have to pay on the way back though.

1st exit, immediately after crossing the Forth Road Bridge. Slip road brings you down to a roundabout. Take 1st exit (left) on roundabout and double back down into the village of North Queensferry.
Once in the village, bear right at the Ferrybridge Hotel ...

Then take the next left at the pub. Follow the road round until you reach the car park which is directly below the Forth Bridge (Rail Bridge) here...

No cunning plan sorted at the moment..... Its an achievement to get this many Jocks at the same place at the same time with the same or similar car....
Always open to suggestions though but, remember, it is November on the Forth with December the next step away....

Sorry I couldn't make it guys, looks like it was a really nice day too, albeit bloody cold! I had a really busy weekend, no I wasn't pissed nor partying :P in fact this is the first weekend I've had in many months with no booze :o. Up at 9am both days too which for me is pretty dramatic!
Hope the meet went well, looking forward to seeing the pics up :y
