Seeing as the P0340 seems to appear more often than the P0335 , it wouldnt be a case of the cam sensor causing the ecu to throw up spurious other codes, would it  :-\
Crank sensor almost causes the spurious codes more often than the 0335 code itself, it seems.

It's a bit like the 2.2 cam sensor throwing auto box loopy on the 4 pots.

Crank sensor most common on the v's
Cam sensor  most common on the Desmond's.

If crank sensor - would expect cutting out/difficult starting as well as code.  See my post above re cam sensor ;)

Well if you swap crank sensor and no improvement, you know where to look next  ;)

Having slept on this, I think I'd be inclined to pop in a 2nd hand, known good cam sensor.

That said, being a V6, its always worth having a brand new crank sensor in the boot...

Manflu permitting, will swap the cam sensor from my clutchless car to try in Joshs'.

Is it on the front inside face of the 246 head, as per The Book of Blocks?

Cam sensor fault, not convinced, what state was the wire in.

Remember also that the cam sensor can throw a wobble if there is a timing belt issue (e.g. some slack)

Covered in sealant from a cover gasket change.

Did wonder about the belt side of things, as it tended  to put the light on during upshifts, as the revs dropped :-\

But once on it would stay on, rather than flashing with the gear changes :-\

Changed the 246 coilpack as it was soaked and covered in orange mush, which won't have been helping...
