I'm sure I read somewhere that some police spec omegas have the internal light wired to a switch in the dash so you can stop it coming on when opening the doors and also they can switch it on whilst sitting in it with the doors closed.

Perhaps they have removed this switch.

Maybe with the switch removed there is a constant feed running to where the switch is or was causing the drain.

Any chance you could post up a piccy of your dash so can see whats missing or added.

HTH ;)

Yes. That is about right. Mine comes on with the key fob unlocking but not the door opening

Mines the same, it won't blow cold air at you so waits for it to warm up first. 4 - 5 mins seems about right

SO mine is OK

Thanks

I think it may be your thermostat. Mine was running in low 80's so I looked and the stat was warped.

I've found in previous cars with heated seats that they don't really feel hot unless you're sitting in them, I guess due to the weight of your ass pushing the surface closer to the heaters. A few times I tried a test by switching on the passenger seat and feeling if it got warm and it never did, but when I sat in it the seat warmed up as normal. Never tried them in an Omega except where I was sitting on the seat. I'd definitely try leaving it switched on while you're sitting in the seat before assuming it's broken, as it's an easy check (there aren't many checks you can do sitting on your ass lol).

As I said... on the Omega it's hot even when no one is sitting in the seat...

I agree - if I put mine on 10 mins before use I'd be cooking.  I have mine set no higher than 2 and it's hot within the first mile of home.  :y

Agreed. I put mine on 5 for a test but had to switch it off before I burnt my bum

I would change it, though not sure how.  I seem to recall there is a fiddly pipe to remove...

Yes. I can confirm it is a very fiddly pipe

I use Renapur Balsam which I have used for years on my leather trousers (motorcycling ones not kinky ones) and jacket. It keeps everything nice.

Seems a tad low. I would have thought you would get over 20mpg as I do on my 3.0 v6
