Browsing for a replacement for the Omega as that time will come within next year or two, like the look and reports of the Audi A8 3.0 TDi

Looked at honest John, compare the "What to look out for" - Omega Vs A8

Omega - http://www.honestjohn.co.uk/carbycar/index.htm?md=437

A8 - http://www.honestjohn.co.uk/carbycar/index.htm?md=437

Apart from the reported alloy cam covers on early V6's Honest John is quite close to the actual issues. But suprised to see no reported issues for A8  :o

Audi A8 owners unlikely to be big forum users - lets face it, they are all wannabe BMW owners - same low intelligence, less money.

Thats why ;)

A8 is pretty small only 74mm x 52mm - you won't fit.

A0 you might - not sure if there is bigger than A0

What you need tunnie, is a skoda superb 1.9 TD ;)
Cheap to buy 2nd hand, get around 50mpg av.
And just as much room inside as an omega, i reckon.

Im seriously considering keeping the one i have on loan at the moment, well actually not this one, as its a loaner and has a turbo problem i reckon. Give it revs, around 2.5k or more, and the turbo seems to stop working, but only goes like a slug when its around 0C outside. Restart it and the turbo starts working again!

Tho the one i have suffers the same as the omega's with projector headlights and filament bulbs, there rubbish.....get one with HID's fitted.

But seriously worth a thought, for cheap big motoring.  :y

Hearing good things about them, the early shape ones don't really do it for me, just look like a fat Fabia.....

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/200947346585162/sort/priceasc/usedcars/make/skoda/model/superb/page/1/radius/1501/quicksearch/true/postcode/nn136er?previous=%2Fsearch%2Fresults%2Fusedcars%2Fpostcode%2Fnn136er%2Fradius%2F1501%2Fmake%2Fskoda%2Fmodel%2Fsuperb%2Fpage%2F1%2Fsort%2Fpriceasc%2Fquicksearch%2Ftrue&logcode=p

But the later ones look nice, and have a much better interior:

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/200941343488322/sort/priceasc/make/skoda/model/superb/price-from/8000/postcode/nn136er/page/1/radius/1501/advert-type/featured-listing/dealer/47463/usedcars?previous=%2Fsearch%2Fresults%2Fusedcars%2Fpostcode%2Fnn136er%2Fradius%2F1501%2Fmake%2Fskoda%2Fmodel%2Fsuperb%2Fprice-from%2F8000%2Fpage%2F1%2Fsort%2Fpriceasc&logcode=flp

Trouble is with those i don't like the arse on them, looks like a cross between a Jag XF and a Renult Megan  ::)

Problem is the one i have atm, I havent a clue about its history.....apart from its been ragged as a cab from new....3 years old and 130k.....its anybodies guess when it last got a service! and that was probably just an oil and filter change.
2 weeks ago i took it back coz it had its brake pad wear light on, they ended up changing all the pads and disks, because of the state of them  ::)
