NCDC "no magazine"
« on: 04 January 2021, 21:45:46 »

Really wanted to play my new copy of Dark side of the moon on the way to work today. Ejected the CD magazine, put the disc in and reinserted it.
The Magazine kept popping back out, as though whatever retains it has broken. Sometimes it will stay in, but the display still says "No magazine".
Is it fixable ?

Tia.

Does it stay in with no Discs in the Mag. ?

Also if you really need to you can play a CD on the top single Disc Slot, you select it using the CD/CDC toggle button, obviously you won't be able to use Sat Nav whist in this mode, but guessing you should know the way Home by now.  ;D.                                                                                                                                          ........or maybe not.  :-X

Doesnt it damage the laser though ?

Ok, so the magazine stays in its slot with no discs in it, but the display still says "No Magazine".  ???
I have a spare 2013 GID in the shed. Might have to swap some bits over. Problem is, its so easy to pull the front off when pulling the unit out of the dash.  ::)

Just use the satnav slot, it's easier.

I have been using the Satnav slot, but the brand new I put in thereCD skips a bit sometimes, I have a feeling it might damage the laser, and I really dont like things in the car not working as intended.  ;)

mine has done this once !
i tried to work out what latches it in place and found there was a little metal lever / stub that needed flicking back to the left i beleive. from what i can remember it is somewhere to the right of centre ,quite near the back looking into the opening. sorry hard to describe but you should see what i mean .
this worked on mine. may not be your problem but you never know

Swap the CDC3 part over with your spare one from another NCDC....    ...but you must also change the vertical board in the CDC section.
