Homebrew irish cream question
« on: 22 December 2014, 10:31:48 »

For the last few years i've being knocking out some rather potent irish cream for crimbo.
Problem is, I can remember the ingredients but not the order or quantity  :-[

Ingredients are .............

Bottle whisky
15 cans of carnation milk
Camp coffee / chicory essence
A little added sugar (not too much)
A little plain chocolate

I've had a look on t'internet and not found anything that rings a bell and times running short because iirc, it needs to be warmed a little, shook up then left to settle in a cold place for a couple of days.

Anybody in Oof land make anything similar ?

Used to make my own  : beat one egg, strain and add to a tin of condensed milk and small carton of single cream. Add a good tumbler of whiskey (the quality and quantity will determine the taste and strength) and then one teaspoon of instant coffee dissolved in a small quantity of boiled water (again, quality and quantity will determine taste). Once mixed, strain into a bottle, chill and try not to drink it all straight away :y

Why make your own? cheaper to buy, if you want in more potent just add more whisky..... :y :y

We made some Bucks Fizz this year as there was not left in the shop, cost a bomb to make and didn't taste as nice, bought some today for New Years Day; £2.50 a bottle.......... :y :y
