Many thanks Alan for posting up the site map. Hope this helps everyone find our field. We should have the gazebos and flags up by late afternon on the Friday to help people find us

Dont worry Hawke, just turn up to the ABS field and you can camp with us. You have pre-booked to get the discount is the main thing.

So where are we pitching up then, I thought it was Shellduck 3, which is the tiny little bit along YZ250's red line, but ABS are in Shellduck4?

Personally I would just aim for the ABS field (Shelduck 4) and see one of the ABS guys for guidance on where to pitch within their area (as they use the centre of the area for showing the cars). Unless you have a hook-up, Billing is notoriously hap-hazard about grass pitches. The grass pitches aren't even marked out, so in the open area it really is a first come first serve basis. The ticket gets you in the gate, they won't have a clue where you go from there, you are booking a space, not a particular space, just a space, contrary to what they may tell you. If you had booked a certain area and a family of ten tents turned up before you, there would be nothing that you could do about it. Tents are everywhere, along the side of the river (sometimes in the river  ;D), forming communal circles etc. as you will see when you arrive.  :y

I would go with Keith B's suggestion and just aim for the ABS area in Shelduck 4. At least you will be within a private area and all together. It's normally roped off, leaving a drive in/drive out gap for access. Anyone with a caravan has to make the tea though.  ;)

The ABS guys have a decent area. If they double row the cars on display it leaves a fair amount of field space left for camping. Remember, only ABS members (and OOF guests on this occasion) are permitted to camp in the ABS area, so there shouldn't be a problem ........unless the entire OOF community turn up that is.  ;D ;D

It can become a bit of a free for all in non-designated spaces, but Keith and the guys have kindly invited OOF in to their designated area, so you won't be searching for a space, you can drive straight to the ABS area.  :y

I'm gutted that I've just sold my caravan, as I would have spent the weekend there as per previous years. I'll have to visit as a day visitor........unless I break the dome tent out.  :)
