Because the proven experience of OOF indicates genuine GM pumps should not be changed as a matter of course at 40k. This implies they will reach 80 without issue.

Additionally I regularly have seen many genuine gm original pumps that have covered 100 to 150k miles without any sign of failure. So why shouldn't these two, when they are much newer with known OOF history?

FWIW, my original one was changed at 160k, and then only because it seemed prudent to... nowt actually wrong with it iirc
