The Midas touch. Again.
« on: 22 April 2018, 17:04:13 »

That's it. I'm not touching anything else this weekend. Every single "quick thing" I've done has either turned into an ordeal, or resulted in me having to order more bits...

...except topping up the Jag's screenwash, as I can't seem to get new bonnet struts from anywhere, so guess I'll be onto the dealer tomorrow...  ...after I've ripped ECP/CP4L a new arsehole  >:(

On the upside, the amount of shit I've ordered this weekend, at least I'll have the excitement and anticipation of Mr Postie knocking at the door ;D

Oh, does anyone know where I can get an M5 reverse thread flange nut?

Yeah, tried there already (looking for UK based sellers, as getting severely cheesed off with far east sellers on egay, and their 6-8 week delays).

Was hoping someone would know of a decent UK fastener supplier who will do mail order for relatively small quantities (ie, around a dozen).

They have been there for ages, and will sell you just one - like Monday's in the high street and Grippers, sadly long gone from Chelmsford. No pre-packed rubbish at inflated prices, containing more than you want!  :y

I've not even tried a nut on it yet, as I know its reverse thread, and I know I ain't got any ;D

I'm guess they are M5, as the calipers has a flat battery, and the spare battery has grown a white salty substance.  FFS, grrrr

And to end the day, she curbed the car driving me back from the pub.  A pub where I fancied a shandy with my grub, but they had no lemonade.

HTF can a pub not have lemonade?

Half the Pubs around here dont have Beer, instead they put on a new Beer Pump called 'Available Soon'.

For your M5 Bolt thingy, try these people - http://www.groupcomponents.com/

Their just around the corner from me, or about 1 mins from M25, J26 if your passing.

surely they had some other alcoholic liqueurs to sweeten up the sour taste of the beer  :-\

Diet Pepsi, Diet Fanta and Pepsi Max were all that they could provide.  None of which would go in beer.

They were blaming it on the upcoming sugar tax, so all sweetened softdrinks have been removed from their pump things. Dimwits.  But, then, it was Banburyshire, and regulars here know that those from Banburyshire are very strange folk, caused by all the inbreeding there.

I get all my nuts & bolts either from Kays Fasteners or Spalding Fasteners. Kays are on eBay, Spalding are on eBay and their own website.

Used Kays a fair bit (they do a lot of tiny stuff, suitable for models), but couldn't find anything suitable online.  I'll have a call round tomorrow - got a few options now :y

I certainly do, like Saturday night's St Georges dinner dance down at my local social club. :y A first class 3 course roast beef meal with half a bottle of wine for £20 followed by a great disco with plenty of dancing and dancing partners. :y A good time had by all. :y

I'm sure the 23rd as St Georges day will be celebrated by wall-to-wall coverage by BBC England like they do with BBC Scotland, BBC Wales & BBC NI with their patron saints. ??? ??? ???

I would normally agree, but it was so hot, and I was so thirsty, I wanted to glug a couple straight down, and my mission was not to get legless.

Today, managed a nasty burn after getting my fingers entangled in the extruder of the printer, at the point it claimed it was 200C.  Fortunately, due to Mrs TB's clumsiness, the house is full of Aloe Vera.  Still smarts, mind.

Aloe vera is brilliant stuff - I know I got it under a cold tap within seconds, but I was expecting a massive blister as best case scenario.  Instead, I've got what looks like a bruise, and the skin is all very shiney and smooth, no fingerprint in that area.

I think I probably had a lucky escape, as I suspect that could have been quite bad.  Whilst at the time it seemed like ages, reality was probably I was only caught on it for less that a second.
