Shouldn't be a problem finding either one either here in parts for sale or ebay :y

The garage states that the lock is broken and I need a complete mechanism, which I believe are a bit rare....

They rarely give any trouble so a 2nd hand one should be fine.

I do wonder how forcing the lock has affected the door catch mechanism, though, as they are separate entities. Maybe the lock has jammed in an intermediate position that doesn't allow the latch to close properly.

Either way, you need to remove the door card and then take the mechanism out. It's then quite astraightforward to check its' operation and clean / lubricate it. That may be all it needs but if not, as said, a 2nd hand one is the way to go.

Post a wanted advert in help section, an admin will move it to parts wanted.

Also just look at eBay for Omegas bring broken.

Should cost no more than a couple of quid and you should have it by the weekend  :y
