Title: Hydraulic lifters

Could anyone tell me if the cam belt (not brakes) slips a couple of teeth and bends the valves and you carry on cranking to try and start the thing.
1.yes we have bent valves
2.and broken valve guides

We have repaired head with parts from trechi very resonable but now have no compression on cylinder no2 .

Is it possible that the hydraulic lifters have been damaged as well

Did you see any damage to the pistons while fixing the head?

lifters are reused

got a recipt with my car for a full rebuild of both heads and it clearly states all 24x old lifters were reused!

ill be changing them soonish as theyre getting noisy when the oil is getting a bit worn

So how did you sort the valve guides out?

Hi all valve guides were replaced all piston tops were fine slight marks nothing major.
Retaken head off checked head for valves seating inverted and put parrafin in top of the head and all valves sealing perfect.
Going to get some second hand hydraulic buckets this morning and try comp test.
