General Car Chat / What will stick leather to plastic?
« on: 22 February 2015, 20:31:40 »
I bought a new leather handbrake gaiter and need to attach it to the plastic frame - the original one was stapled on but I don't have anything that's powerful enough to put the new one on like that so was thinking best to glue it on somehow.

Anyone done this?

Think I may have some bostik impact adhesive kicking about, would that work?

General Car Chat / Poly rear donut bushes - free road noise upgrade
« on: 21 February 2015, 15:51:21 »
Finally got round to fitting the poly rear cross-member donut bushes just before Christmas, expected some additional road noise but nothing near as much as I'm hearing.

Anyone else found the same?

Omega General Help / Head gasket manufacturer recommendation
« on: 10 February 2015, 10:56:00 »
As title - don't fancy paying the dealer price for the head gasket set for a V6.

Anyone got experience of FAI, Payen, Elring, Victor Reinz, etc.?

Needs to cope with increased rev limit.

I'll shortly be selling my '99 3L MV6 manual which has been tweaked a little - Bill Blydenstein heads, 3.2 manifolds, Jetex exhaust, Red Dot Racing chip, AC/EGR/SAI removed, Eibach springs, Bilstein shocks, Irmscher front bumper, rear bumber dechromed and fully painted.  Also has Elite interior with Bose and rear blind.

Sad thing is, I suspect it will be worth more broken than as a full car.

I have a fair idea what most parts would fetch but have never seen another pair of Bill Blydenstein heads being traded.  Anyone have a feeling for what they'd be worth?

Cheers.

From a 3L V6 with short plenum: 4 cams, divider plate (lower inlet manifold), complete injector manifold and plenum with throttles, etc. (all breathers nice and clean).

I believe this little lot adds a fair bit of extra grunt to a 2.5 V6.

£180 posted anywhere in UK, or £150 collected from Central Scotland, can also deliver within reasonable distance to kick off an 'OOF network' delivery.

Cheers.

Happy New Year everyone.

I converted my MV6 from auto to manual in 2013 using the excellent guide put together by matchless.  The only minor issue I'm left with is the MID showing the "Automatic Gearbox" error on startup, can this be fixed with Tech2?

What else should/could be updated while the Tech2 is on it?

Cheers.

Complete kit to convert from a V6 auto to manual.

Includes: R28 gearbox ; front prop section ; working dual-mass flywheel ; concentric slave cylinder ; good used clutch disc and pressure plate ; clutch pedal, cylinder and pipework ; 'normal' width brake pedal ; new flywheel bolts (part # 9126581) ; new manual gearbox/rear engine mounting damper block (part # 90447547) - the auto gearbox cross-member is the same as the manual one, it's the mounting damper block that is different.

The process is relatively straight-forward, I found the guide prepared by Matchless to be very useful.. http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/index.php?topic=90592.0

I would also suggest replacing the rear crank seal (part # 90325572, RRP £40) which you can pick up on www.carpartsconnexion.com pretty cheap usually.

£285 delivered anywhere in the UK, or £250 collected from Central Scotland.

Pair of good Xenons with aluminium adjusters fitted and non-yellow lenses for MFL ('94 - '99) models.

Complete with bulbs and ballasts.

£95 posted anywhere in UK, or £80 collected from central Scotland.

Hi Guys

I'm after a pair of diff mounts - i.e. the U-shaped mounts at the back of the rear sub-frame either side of the diff and not the donuts just in front of the back wheels

Cheers

Hi guys

Anyone have a good pair of the headlamp washer extending tube assemblies (90510268) that bolt onto the bottom of the headlamps - I don't need the jets, only the tube part the they attach to, mine are leaky/broken.  They're not handed.

Also after an intermittent wash/wipe relay (90494187) because mine is, well, intermittently not working at all :D

Cheers

Suspect these are getting like rocking horse poo these days but if you don't ask...

After a pair of fog lights for my pre-facelift Irmscher front bumper.

Thanks.

As title, looking for a pair of heated windscreen washer jets plus the wiring for my '99 MFL saloon.  Pre-facelift ones are the same BTW so would take those too.

Thanks
