yep, one of the many, not a good year for steam. i should be at cromford steam rally 1st weekend in august, just waiting on the site survey to see if its going ahead or not.
Our land at Welland actually drains very well, but the incessant rainfall simply isn't allowing this to happen.
Then there's several hundred acres of hay to harvest (and flog!), which'll need around a week to dry-out, plus around three (really full) days work with some pretty impressive machinery to cut/bale/move off the site.
Having spoken with our Chairman, I totally agree that the decision to postpone the event has been a correct and responsible one.
These little chaps, (our two youngest grandsons), are really disappointed at not being able to spend ten days in the Worcestershire countryside 'helping' Gramps.
They've been 'bouncing off the walls' here, and 'counting-down the days' for the past few weeks:
