Cars for Sale & wanted / F/S Omega 3.2 V6 Elite Estate 2002
« on: 14 December 2018, 11:29:44 »
Its time to sell on my Omega after 5 years, its not getting used and due to other vehicles is actually surplus to requirements  :-[

Its a 2002 3.2V6 Elite spec estate in the very very rare silver.

First registered in March 2002 - currently having its cherished number transfered off, fairly sure its a 52 plate but will confirm once paperwork complete

I bought it 5 years ago with around 105k on the clock, its now done 122k, its only really used for odd weekends and a bit of boat towing

Starts on the button even after being sat for a while

Runs and drives exceptionally well with no EML or other warning lights. Since I've owned it its been run on fully synthetic oil, originally Mobil 1 but later changed to GM Dexos2 5W30 and changed each year regardless of how few miles its does

17" alloys - had 4 new Avon tyres fitted last August that have covered less than 5K

MOT'd until 23rd April 2019

Being a facelift customer car obviously it has an auto box which is smooth even in sport under WOT

Full elite spec

Full leather in excellent condition

Electric memory seats and mirrors all work as they should

All four heated seats work

Has photo-chromatic rear view mirror that works

Full HIDs and self levelling headlights - washers also still work

Cruise control

Electric windows all round

Rear load cover in place and working, also has the vertical net mesh thing that hooks into the holes in the roof

Has the Irmscher rear boot spoiler

NCDC sat nav with half height GID all in working order along with the CD multichanger

Recent new aux belt and tensioner bearing

Fitted with fixed towbar

Has a spot of rust under rear wiper arm and by bottom or rear doors along with a cosmetic scuff on the front bumper

Timing belt, tensioner and water pump was replaced not long after I bought it, so although its done less than 20k it could be due for renewal soon.

As this is my 4th and Last Omega I'm also chucking in all the spare bits I've purchased over the years that can be included or price negotiated and not included:-

Pair of new front wishbones
A few pairs of cam cover gaskets
Tubes of GM black sealant
Front and rear crank seals
Powerflex bushes for wishbones
Spare NCDC with half height GID, sat nav disk and security code
2 other spare NCDCs and various screens that do and don't work for spares (one headunit was from a prefacelift Signum)
Some door cards - from saloons so the fronts fit the rears don't
Think I also have a set of spark plugs and air and pollen filter and a few other switch parts

Comes with two keys

As above its currently on a cherished registration which is NOT included in the sale, so currently awaiting new V5 documents

Will take some photos Sunday when I'll be home in the daylight

Located in Essex 2 miles form Jct 30/31 M25

All this for the give away price of £500, but open to offers

Black (dark charcoal) leather interior for Omega saloon.

This is the CDX spec facelift version.

As such it is manual movement with just the motorised height adjustment, this means its a direct replacement for lower spec cars and doesn't need the faffing with connections and extra wire looms needed to get the elite seats to work.

All seats in very good condition no rips or tears

All airbags and pretensioners fully intact.

Originally from a 52 plate CDX that had done 80k, transferred into my CDX and only covered 10k before being removed (cloth was put back in when car scrapped)

Only problem is only have 4 headrests so middle back seat headrest is NOT included

Also have the 'wood trim' door cards but these are all in variable condition so can be included if required

Yours for £80ono collected from near Grays in Essex close to jct 30/31 M25

Courier at buys cost

Cash on collection or by PayPal

Any questions please ask

Photos available on request

I have a pair of brand new cam covers for the X25/ X30 series engine.

These are the plastic ones with the single spark plug not the coil pack

Part numbers are 90501639 & 90501640

They are brand new and never been fitted, I now don't have and X code engine so surplus to requirement

Nearside cover (the one with oil filler cap hole) comes with a full gasket and O ring set which is GM branded, but up to buyer if they use these

These are £120 upwards each (if you can find them new)

So grab a bargain at £120 for the pair or £80 each

Postage guessing £8 extra or collection form near jct 30/31 M25

Payment by PayPal or cash on collection

Any questions just ask

Cars for Sale & wanted / '00 Facelift 2.5V6 CDX Saloon £250
« on: 24 March 2014, 12:14:56 »
I am selling my saloon as its been replaced with a 3.2 Estate

The car is a 2000 'W' reg 2.5 V6 CDX auto in blue.

I purchased it in April 2004 with 98k on the clock and have been using it as a 'weekend car', so it currently has 140k on it, yes its only done 42k in 10 years.

Usual CDX spec including HID's, cruise control, dual circuit ECC, 4 electric windows, heated electric mirrors, remote central locking, electricly operated sunroof, alloy wheels etc etc.

Also has towbar with single electrics which has mainly been used for towing a boat so only light work

Also has fully working rear blind

Its starts and runs with no mechanical issues, however as its been sitting for 5 months it appears the exhaust has started to blow.

It also needs the cam covers doing fairly sure one cover is cracked but have a pair of 2nd hand covers to go on that will be thrown in with the sale.

Had new crank sensor installed 2 weeks before it was taken off the road

All 4 tyres have plenty of tread with the fronts having done less than 500 miles, these are Maxxis and the rears are Verdestein

The bodywork cosmetically not great, scuffs to bumper and dent in rear of roof where a tile fell off my house a few years ago.

It currently has proper CDX facelift leather seats but these will be removed and cloth put back in, or for extra £100 leather can be left in.

Currently SORN and no MOT, have previous MOT certs

Pictures show with no number plate as its SORN and recently transfered cherished plate but have all documents to show transfers and V5 present in my name at my home address

I will not be breaking it for parts, I can't be arsed and don't have the time.

If it doesn't sell in next few weeks it will be scrapped after I have taken a few bits off that I can use in my estate.

Car is in Essex approx 2 miles from junction 30/31 of M25, I do have access to a trailer and for a reasonable fee can deliver within reason

As per title £250 and its yours with cloth interior or £350 with leather

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Speed sensor wire circuit thingy
« on: 26 October 2010, 17:11:35 »
I am in the process of fitting Kenwood navigation system which is all fun so far but there is one wire that should be connected to the vehicle speed sensor.

I assume this is so if the GPS signal is weak it can work out how far you have gone by speed/ time calculations.

Question is as the Omega has a speed sensitive radio can i splice this 'feed' in to that 'circuit' and if so what colour is it and where do i find it?

TIA

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / NCDC 2015 & NCDC 2013
« on: 16 December 2009, 09:44:28 »
I have been told if you swap the 'face plate' from a 2015 on to a 2013 you get the full telephone functions.

The 'back box' contains the same bits, the telephone menu function is controlled by the electronics in the face plate only and not by whats behind (obviously actual dialing and calls is of course controlled by the telematics box)

Can anyone confrim if this is correct?

Omega General Help / Part Numbers & Technical Names Please
« on: 22 October 2008, 22:39:47 »
Does anybody know the part numbers for the following:-

1)The rubber 'doughnut' arrangement on the top of the front shocks
2) The nuts that fixes the above and the one that goes on the metal plate at the strut top
3) the rubber bits at the top of the rear shocks
4) Nuts for the top of rear shocks

What is the proper name for the 'donught' thingy??

Can all the above even be bought as individual items or do they come as part of the shock kit??

Thank you very muchly  :D

Omega General Help / Fault Code Info Please
« on: 09 October 2008, 20:29:46 »
Using not so cheapotech2 ("My Naff Code Reader") in alarm section get the following fault code:-

121 no DTC present

What does it all mean??

The alarm does keep going off, not bonnet switch, or internal sensors, if park the car up for couple hours then put alarm on it generally doesn't go off, if i arm alarm straight after a drive (long or short) it goes off after 10-15 mins

Any help or ideas appreciated  :)

Omega General Help / Is it the DIS pack???
« on: 31 January 2008, 16:20:17 »
Driving around today the MV6 suddenly started running lumpy and sounded like is was mis-firing as i was pulling away and at low revs

Assuming it was the oil in the plug wells on the drivers bank i gave them a clean out and put 3 new plugs in.

Still runs pretty much the same, also makes no difference if i take one of the plug leads off!!

Is it the dis pack??

I know for a fact the HBV has been peeing water out and i'm guessing this has gone on the dis pack and its knackerd.

Still starts on the button.

HELP!!!!

BTW is there any difference between a 2.5 and 3ltr dis pack?

Omega General Help / No fuel pump or spark
« on: 20 December 2007, 17:02:59 »
Well currently i'm in Toddington services waiting for the AA to take me home (had the man in a van out at 10am, he couldn't do it, transporter would only take me to toddington, hence waiting for the second lorry to get me back to Essex)

Problem is turn on key, fuel pump isn't priming, take a live off the lights at the fuses under steering wheel and pump springs into life, but turn key and still wont start.

Anyone got a clue what it could be.

Already swapped relay 10 and 20, but still no joy. All other fuses under bonnet checked with multi-meter and appear ok

Guessing not cam sensor as this wouldn't stop the fuel pump working, so does this mean ECU is fubar?? Or is it an imobilser problem??

Is there a fuse 'protecting the ECU that could have blown??

All other electrics, lights, radio, horn wipers etc work.

Its the MV6 3ltr MY99

Car ran perfectly on the 160mile trip to Branston just been parked up overnight

Any clues where to start would be appreciated

I have a brand new set of Irmscher springs, they have never been fitted to any vehicle, they fit ALL V6 saloons be it MV6, Elite, CDX, GLS, Facelift or prefacelift with or without HID's

Lowers by approx 30mm or 15mm if you have an MV6

Not sure if they are suitable for cars with self levelling suspension, so assumption is they are not.

Pics can be taken if you want to see them

£150 plus postage, (around £15) paypal or cash on collection from Essex (close to M25/ A13 junction 30/31)

Had a full set of these with Irmscher dampers on my MV6 and they made a massive difference.

Bought these around the same time to put on my CDX, but never got round to it and the CDX may soon be going soon so making a bit of room in my shed  :)
