LPG Injector Q
« on: 20 September 2012, 10:06:48 »

Right, I've just acquired a new Stag front end kit, comes with KME Silver vapouriser and Valtek 30 injectors :y

Just had a call from the supplier to say that they've been having issues with the reliability of the Valteks and that they are including a set of OMVL Superlight injectors instead :-\

Has any one heard of these and are they any good :-\

TIA, Al :y

So do I have these unreliable injectors ? And is that why my lag has returned? :(

I presume the injections are at fault?

This is the kit that I've bought

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LPG-GPL-autogas-SGI-kit-Stag-300-plus-/300447974292?_trksid=p5197.m1992&_trkparms=aid%3D111000%26algo%3DREC.CURRENT%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D14%26meid%3D2177352261950295237%26pid%3D100015%26prg%3D1017%26rk%3D1%26sd%3D300447974292%26

If the injectors listed are the same as yours, then yes that might explain your issues :-\

The Superlights were offered to me as a free 'upgrade', but I don't recall anyone here using them :-\

The seller has assured me that they are at least the equivalent of the Valteks, are will work with the Stag kit with no issues :y

This will be going onto my next Mig, just as soon as I hear from young Josh ::)

valtek 30 injectors are the biggest pile of crap i have encountered in my dealings with lpg systems, they were useless on my sts,and can barely  power my range rover. i went to  "magic" injectors.

Valtek 30's apparently have a bad name amongst the LPG community in terms of reliability. But Valtek 34's seem to be considered a lot more reliable. I hve no personal experience of either, so the above is hearsay. I run Emer injectors and they happily redline with no problems at all.

No, you don't have them. They're the red Valteks ;)

Not sure why you have lag returned TBH... Perhaps we should have had a quick look over the weekend :-\

Be interesting to see how complete that kit is and whether the KME Silver is man enough in real world use ;)

I might be able to find some time if you need a hand Al ;) :y

Ah, LD.. Speaking of reducers - Teilo was suggesting an AC reducer, unless I'd specifically like the KME he's supplied to you guys before.. any thoughts?

Will find out tomorrow when it's delivered :-\

Still need to source a tank and the bits for the rear end kit :y

Thank you for the offer, not sure when the car will be ready for fitting, but plan to have everything in place ready :y

Who is the prefered tank supplier? Was thinking Tinley Tech :-\

650mm diameter is the largest that fits ;)

I went 650x270, 76L GZWM tank and Stako valve box so it doesn't need too much modification :y

Oh, and that seems a bit pricey to me :-\

Yep, but it must be a Stako valve box. It's a different shape ;) or the valve box needs modifying ;)

Still seems pricey unless it includes all the pipework :-\

Stako is one of the two choices of valve box, does include the valves and box, but not the sender unit :-\

Not ideal, being used and all :-\ personally I would prefer to fit a new tank rather than chance an old one :-\

Right, kit arrived this morning :y includes the programming disc and interface cable, wiring diagram and guarantee book... the wiring loom and associated parts are all clearly Autogaz AC. The loom is clearly a 6pot one :y

The injectors are Dream XXI SL. My only immediate concern is that they've sent me 2 rails of  4 injectors :-\

At risk of asking a stupid question, is this a problem?

Only ashetically, and making it a little harder to mount due to tight space.

How much does this wrong kit cost? From someone who seems to be impossible to contact?

I am no expert, but if I had to do this by myself for the first time, I would use the bigas kit from tinley tech. Costs a bit more, but at least you get the right bits in time and first rate technical support form the guys at TT.

No issues with the seller of the kit I've just bought :y

They rang me prior to dispatch to inform me that the injectors would be different, (hence my question), and answered the phone at the second ring when I rang to query the injectors that I was sent. :-\

This kit was not bought from Teilo, whom people seem to struggle with contacting :-\ I chose it purely because there is a lot of experience here with this particular lpg management system...

And in answer to you first question, £346.  I could have bought it for a touch less from Poland, but chose a seller a bit closer to home :y
