Inside the powersounder
« on: 18 April 2009, 19:01:40 »

Powersounder showing part no.

Sounder opened, side view.

Sounder exposed view showing battery placements.

Sounder batteries.

I used a hacksaw on the join of the body needing to cut through about 4mm. Just need to source a battery supplier or alternative batteries.
This sounder is from the facelift model so not sure if a different battery set-up was used on the earlier models.

I have ordered a QJ35Q 7.2V / 1800mAh from Maplins, it's actually a rechargable pack from a remote control car. They have the standard Tamiya connectors (not sure if male or female though) once they arrive I'll get either of these to suit. I plan on extending a wire from the sounder and mounting the battery pack further back. This will also make replacement in the future a ot easier :y

inside power sounder of my 3.2 facelift. Shows different soldered in batterys.

Some minor signs of battery leakage highlighted by screwdriver. No damage to circuit board from battery acid.
